We would like to wish you all a wonderful Memorial Day!

Each year on the final Monday of May, we take day to appreciate the men and women who serve our country. Many of them have made the ultimate sacrifice, and today, we remember and honor their lives 🔴⚪🔵

Through our partnership with Patriot Angels, we help Veterans and their surviving spouses explore the VA Aid & Attendance benefit, a tax-free monthly pension that can help cover the cost of senior living and care for those who qualify. As a small way of saying thank you, Peaceful Pines waives the community fee for eligible Veterans working with Patriot Angels, helping families focus on care, comfort, and community.

If you or someone you love served in the armed forces, you may qualify for benefits you didn’t even realize were available. Today, we honor your service and are ready to help you explore the support you’ve earned.

💙 🐾 We had some special visitors at Peaceful Pines today. Officer Seth stopped by with K9 Officer Teddy for a K-9 demonstration, and residents loved getting to watch Teddy in action. Officer Seth answered lots of great questions and showed just how well Teddy is trained to alert to drugs.

Safe to say, Teddy definitely stole the show (and maybe a few hearts, too 😉).

A big thank you to Officer Seth and K9 Officer Teddy for spending part of the day with us!

Windows down, scenery up 🌿🚗 Our Woodlands residents enjoyed a scenic drive filled with fresh air, beautiful views, and plenty of conversation along the way. Sometimes it’s the simple change of pace, familiar roads, sunshine, and taking in the world outside that can spark memories and create meaningful moments together.

Talk about raising the stakes.💰 During the month of April, our Life Enrichment team added a fun twist to resident activities by handing out Monopoly money throughout the month for participation, engagement, and a few surprise moments along the way. It was so much fun watching residents search for hidden money, strategize what to save for, and get excited about the little things throughout the month.

Then came the big event, our Resident Mystery Auction 🎉 Residents got to cash in their hard-earned “money” on mystery prizes, and let’s just say… the bidding got pretty competitive.

And honestly, this is what Independent Living is all about: staying active, connected, and having a little fun along the way. If you’ve been thinking about making a move, we’d love to show you what life here is all about.

Mary Jo and Autumn had the opportunity to attend the Spring Parkinson’s Awareness Conference in Sioux Falls. They spent the day learning more about Parkinson’s, connecting with others, and gaining new insights into how we can continue to better support those we serve. Opportunities like this matter, especially when it comes to understanding both the physical and cognitive side of Parkinson’s and how care can evolve with it. They also had the chance to meet keynote speaker Maryum Ali, which made the day even more memorable.

Moments like this don’t just stay at the conference; they come back with us, shaping the way we show up each day.
