reread my student journal from front to back on my last road trip north~

remembered the importance of lengthening those exhales from time to time when feeling wound up, which has been OFTEN with a busy spring schedule!! 😵‍💫😵‍💫

grateful for a life that gets to be this full and busy, and also grateful for those moments to slow down, come back to my own midline, and soften~ physically and mentally.

How can I redirect my reactions to be more fluid? By letting it melt. Soften. Release. Come back to the center, come back to the breath. Lean into the love.

Easier said than done, but a practice and a process nonetheless! Keep coming back to the practice.

many moments ago, but in THIS moment, just notice~~ no two bodies the same, no two halves of the same body the same, no two moments the same.

The Book of Ichigo Ichie: The Art of Making the Most of Every Moment, the Japanese Way by Héctor García and Francesc Miralles~ a book I recently finished that reminded me once again how unique each moment is, and how no two moments ever experienced are ever truly the same, and how to find more joy in the present, JUST by remembering this. Each moment is a once in a lifetime experience, each moment it’s own unique gift to savor. From a cup of tea, to the blooming of the Japanese Cherry Blossoms (Sakura), to each individual breath in time. Take time to sit and notice. Find the gift in the present moment, where joy can be found. Not in the regret of yesterday’s, or the worries of tomorrow, but right here, right now.

All is fleeting, and yet, all is coming. Sit with it and BE with it, if ya wanna.. 😜

Didn’t wanna ✅ Did it anyway ✅

Today’s short vid I posted was actually inspired by me not wanting to and choosing to do it anyway.

This Ad Talk came about after rearranging my studio space furniture, after thinking “I don’t want to do this, it’s going to take forever and a lot of effort”, and after higher self me said to me “so what, do it anyway so it’s done and you don’t have to think about it anymore”. Once again, the quickest way out~~ IS THROUGHHH. 🥹❤️🙏🏽

Higher self me won, it did take efforts, but it didn’t take forever, and the relief and JOY I felt when done reminded me that not wanting to, and doing it anyway is what has always changed my life THE MOST. It’s what has brought me the most liberation since 6+ years ago when I first started this journey of resilience, healing, rewiring my brain, and above all, SANTOSHA aka CONTENTMENT. The goal isn’t happiness. The goal is peace.

I live my yoga on and off the mat. And I sure do walk it like I talk it. Thanks to all the teachers before me, and the teacher they’ve created in me. Above all a continual teacher to myself, to re-member.

A big LOVE YOU to all the ripples that doing it anyway, even when I didn’t wanna, has brought me. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🫂🫂

don’t get stuck in the suck. 🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀

doing the dishes, finishing your laundry pile, letting go of that vice that’s wrecking your life and relationships~especially the one with yourself, going through the clutter in the junk drawer you haven’t touched in two years, ending the relationship that’s draining the ever life out of you, changing that pattern in your character that you developed as a kid to keep you safe, being more mindful and guarded of what you consume~ media, foods, conversations, and friendships…the things you are putting off are the very things keeping you stuck.

Only you have the power to truly shift your reality. Only you have the power to notice how you feel when you DETACH!! When you release your clinging and free fall and see what you were holding on to at the detriment of your own well being~ doesn’t even hold a candle to the freedom and JOY found on the other side.
“On the other side of surrender, there is relief”

Truths can be hard, but truths can save you. Sit with what is, and make changes appropriately. Turn your emotion into motion. Not all at once, but slowly and steadily. Rome wasn’t built in a day, but EVERY day, someone was building. It doesn’t have to be perfect or fast, nature never is, it just has to have effort, action AND BREATH.

your ancestors were right~ POSTURE MATTERS.
MY FAVORITE TIP I’VE HEARD: notice the LENGTH!!! in your spine, AND in your breath, as withinnnnn, soooo withoutttt, beautiful humans!! Notice how “shrinking yourself” starts with your posture, and start to give yourself permission to take up more space. Compassion can be practiced by giving yourself SPACE TO BE. ✅✅🫂
Stand tall like a tree, like a mountain, yet be soft like a body of water, because you areeeee thatttt. 🥹🫂🧚🏽‍♀️🥳🥳🥳🥳

“Change your BREATH to change your BRAIN!!” And it alllll starts with the spine. 🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀
