I can’t do the work for you, you gotta do the work for you! 🥹🫂

All I can do is provide a container for people to feel seen, heard, and valuable and support them while they show up for themselves and take the steps to heal themselves.

Nobody can heal anyone. We can only support people while they walk their own walk. We can only love people and meet them where they’re at while they live their own life.

My yoga teacher training program (Two Birds Yoga in Eugene, Oregon the most incredible inclusive studio with the most incredible collaborative studio directors) taught me: no two bodies are the same, no two halves of the same body the same, and no two brains the same!! Recognizing that has helped me see the world with softer eyes. 💫💫🌱🙏🏽 TGIF. Hope you love your neighbor tonight.

Maybe going back to (SOME OF) the ways of our ancestors wouldn’t be the worst. 😬🥹🥹🥹🥹

LESS IS MORE for the mental body. You don’t need 20 workshops, you don’t need red light therapy, you don’t need to wake up every day thinking of what you need to fix or heal. You just need to go back to the basics. You need less stimulation and more sitting with what is and taking care of the machine. You’re a soul, in a body, with a brain that grows what you feed it, maintenance required.

Shrek was RIGHT, we are like onions and we have many layers. 🥹🧅🧅🧅🧅🧅

This is a practice I use to move through three Koshas (energetic sheaths) of the body.
Koshas, rooted in ancient Indian tradition, encompass the whole true self, the layers are: physical body (Annomaya Kosha), energy body (breath, Pranamaya Kosha), mental body (Manomaya Kosha), wisdom body (intuition/sensing, Vijnanamaya Kosha), and the bliss body (the heart and soul of you, Anandamaya Kosha).

I learned from my instructor Libby, with Two Birds Yoga Training, that the most compassionate and graceful way to move out of one when feeling stuck or stagnant, isn’t to focus on that layer, but rather move to the immediate surrounding layer (on either side of the 5 layered sheaths) instead.

Sometimes ruminating on the problem won’t fix the problem, sometimes starting backwards, actually helps (spoken from a true left handed human!!😉)

When my mental sheath (Manomaya Kosha) feels heavy, overwhelmed, fatigued and overstimulated, I soften my energy (Pranamaya Kosha) & physical body (Annamaya Kosha) to get out of my head and thoughts. Sometimes focusing on the thing isn’t what will solve the thing. Sometimes you need to move to the next thing and come back to that other thing with softer, calmer and fresh eyes. The only way outttt~ is through!!! 🥹🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂💫❤️

I’m Mexican, of course we make a joke about everything that’s serious to make life worth livin’ a bit more. 😂😂 sometimes I’m serious, but I’m also never one to turn down a giggle at the realness of LIFE 🌀 A dose of real within the funny this morning about my personal internal battle with Mount Laundropolis!!!!!!

I’ve noticed: if I don’t do it right away, it’s only going to get worse, more complaining and anxiousness about getting it done down the road because now the pile has quadrupled in size.😵‍💫🥴

I’ve noticed: my life goes better when my higher self can call me out in the moment and say: hey you prob aren’t going to do that when you get home but what if you did it right now and gifted future you some peace??? What if you shortened your suffering by getting it over with right now?

This is how we make radical changes, with tiny choices that show compassion. (but I sure as heck am still going to gripe about the laundry every now and then to clear my throat chakra.) BALANCE!

Welcome to my Ad Talk: some wrist health 101 💫💫💫

short n sweet yet staple tips n tricks I practice to help support wrist health for my yoga/life practice ⚡️❤️🙏🏽

for stability:
-spread fingers wide
-grip earth away as if hands are feet
-press through edges of palms, as if palms semi hollow
-eyes of elbows pointing towards each other, elbows soft/supple
-press through finger pads as if pedestals
-imagine knuckles as knees (hinge joints)

for warm up:
-wrist circles with fingers interlaced, arms hugging ribs
-hands together in prayer, rock hands back and forth
-stir wrists both directions
-shake hands
-shake hands
-stretch arm out, wrist in line with shoulder and point fingers towards floor each side, can use other hand for more sensation, do the same each side with fingers facing up palm facing out

cool down:
-hands in prayer, let hands come towards midline, release efforts
-shake it out
-geeentle slowwww wrist rolls

Took a text and a video demo to my 17 year old neice to remind me that if she is asking for this, probably other people would like to know this too! 🐣🐣

After three years of teaching public asana, l can say that I do know some things about some things, because I practice this. What you practice you can understand. 🥹🫂
I wish y’all knew how bad my wrists would suffer before I took up yoga five + years ago!!!

Just not when you ask for it, or how. 😉✨

My most fav container l’ve ever led a session in.
Such a magical experience with an EPIC group. These gals concluded a led empowerment session on the river with some BW Yoga to re-member, not only what’s to come but WHAT IS.

To teach & hold space in the place that has always taught me so much and held me so lovingly..the most ancient teacher with the sturdiest foundation to hold any worries we could ever have. The wisest most humble instructor I could ever ask for will always be nature.
Letting the 🌎 hold us and a return to the water to remember: to let go, to flow, to let life unfold as it will.

I’m only here for a brief moment in time. I might as well do many things & bold things while I can. Thank you, Jaden, for having me a part of such a needed day to let go what doesn’t serve, to make space for what’s to come.

My ever increíble yoga teacher, Libby BaileyCox, shared a quote from her Professor, Dr. Douglas Brooks. Goes a lillll something like this.
“The Universe is from New Jersey. It asks you 3 questions: 1- you talkin’ to me????? 2- whaaddya want? 3- you gotta problem with that????”

And I took it to mean a few things.
1~the Universe is always conspiring to help you as long as you speak up and DREAM. Closed mouths don’t get fed.
2~ I learned you need to get intentional. You need to decide what IS it that you want? What do you not want?
3~ Prove it with action & choices. If you REALLY want to feel good, you gotta make those tough but worthy choices. You can always pivot. You can always redirect. ⚡️
WHADDDDDYA WANT?! ❤🫂

When I first decided I was enrolling in a YTT, I had a plan to teach kid’s yoga. I had a plan to teach yoga outdoors for things like gal pal brunches/friend meet ups in the magical spaces that surround me. I had a plan to do something a lottt like this.

I’m CURRENTLY workin’ at a daycare where I get to remind kids to breath, that they’re as resilient as water, and that they were built to do hard & good things. I currently teach incredible adult beings how to reawaken childlike eyes in themselves, in magic spaces. ILML.

RAM BREATHING EXERCISE ⚡️
For the days you feel you have noooo energy to give, and you just DON’T know where you’ll get it from !! (The answer is usually from a source much grander than you 🥹🫂❤️) ~~
A mantra and pranayama practice to help cultivate and draw energy from everything around you❣️❣️

💡 Some meaning behind the practice~ RAM: R for Rigor (regnum), A for Adoration (agnus), M for Mercy (mundi). Sound carries, sound carries and remembers through patterns in water. You are water. Water made stronger by joining forces with other water. 🥹❤️🌀🌀🌀🌀🌀🐚

❣️❣️I picked this exercise up out of a book by one of my favorite authors: The Pilgrimage by Paulo Coelho. Author of another one of my favorite books- The Alchemist, and also wrote By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept.
Paulo Coelho can write some banger books that have really made an impact on me and the way I view obstacles and redirections over the last several years. ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️🙏🏽

Yesterday’s intuitive movement I held for myself after an AM class, at 5x speed. (I believe in sloowwww these days for my practice to counteract the go go go of my real life🥹)

No plan is kinda the best plan cause then you can just ride the wave, BB! This is how we heal. Not by ruminating, but by acting. HAPPY DAY, Y’ALL XOXOXOO AD 🫂🫂❤️

It was a goal of mine to do this for a WHILE~ excited to announce some added GUIDED PRANAYAMA & MEDITATION classes to my public class line up~ because did you KNOWWWWW: yoga is not and has never been just the bendy shapes you can make with your body. This class will be focused on guided breath, visualizations, and verbal cues to notice, make space and directly contribute to the PRANA within you, while also taking space for you to sit with what is, come back to the middle, and notice what comes up, without the focus being on physical balance or strength. 🫶🏽🫶🏽⚡️

Even if you don’t look like the photos from the Yoga Journal. Especially if you don’t look like the photos from the Yoga Journal. Even if you think you could never do that. You’ll never know till ya try. 💫🙏🏽❤️

In our society,
the powerful practices of yoga and meditation have often been disproportionately associated with women, but the truth is, the benefits for mental and emotional well-being are universal, and men are often disproportionately left out
As a man who grew up with a lot of those old messages, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to break through the programming that tells us to just "tough it out." But I've also seen how practices like yoga and meditation are crucial for building emotional intelligence and resilience—qualities we all need.
For the women in my life, I've found that their support and openness have made a world of difference. To all the men out there, know that taking care of your mental health is a sign of strength. And for everyone, let's encourage the men in our lives to feel good about exploring these practices.
Sidenote, physical Yoga practices are often presented by perfectly fit individuals. As a certified yoga teacher with around 13 years experience leading classes, I really like to emphasize that the postures and movements could look different for everyone, male or female. And if the "perfect pose" is unobtainable, then the practice is not about touching the toes for example, but its about one's journey on the way their toes, on all levels - physical, emotional, mental, spiritual ~~
I also draw in my background in special education specializing in adaptations & modifications. Restorative Yoga which is done with full supports for the body is one of my favorites ~
Yoga and meditation are for every body.
It's great to see more and more Yoga & Meditation offerings in town, I hope guys of all ages are supported to check it out ~

If you’re local to Curry County, you’ve more than likely heard about the tragic boating accident Sunday evening that has left local community members devasted and full of grief. Yoga is the call to action when the going gets tough and the going is about as tough as it can get for some right now. So I ask myself “What can you do right now?” I have spoken with REPS gym here in Brookings and being the amazing local COMMUNITY FOCUSED gym they are- they have collaborated with me for a fundraising event to provide the space and props with all drop in proceeds benefiting the Nelson and Bruner families that I have had the honor to know and have crossed life paths with. 🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️❤️‍🩹
This is the small town difference and connection based relationships that remind me I live in a goldmine of a village. Planet fitness could never.

Join me this Sunday for a full moon beginner friendly practice at 1:00p.m. Reps Gym $15 suggested donation. Feel free to arrive 15 minutes prior and help yourself feel lighter while you help make others lives lighter. We are breathing ripples. 💫💫💫🙏🏽❤️‍🩹
