Following the lead of the Mass General/Brigham regarding the steep rise in respiratory illness, I will return to wearing a face mask during all treatments. Wearing a mask will still be optional for my patients.

I'm happy to say Day 1 of 2024 and my 31st year in business is in the books! A wonderful day highlighting some of the incredible people I treat: a LICSW whom I'm been treating for about 2 months, a long standing patient that lives in Seattle but sees me every time she's in town, an acupuncture practitioner whom
I've known and treated for more than a decade and a 20+ year patient who comes in for tune-ups and whenever he's having a problem. A truly great way to start the year!!!

12/29/2023

And just like that my year is done. Not just any year. My 30th year!

I don't really have the words to explain what this means to me. To think that the Boston community has literally put their health and well being in my hands for the last 3 decades is overwhelming and humbling in a way that just makes me strive to be ever better. Thank you to everyone who has trusted me over the years to help them perform better and be pain free. I am forever grateful.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year! May 2024 be everything you need it to be.

Wishing all my patients and their families who celebrate a glorious Christmas filled with love, laughter and light.

Hi Barry,

How are you? Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is the one year anniversary of my hip replacement surgery, and I just wanted to tell you how thankful I am that I was able to get an appointment with you on my trip to Boston 2 years ago. I saw various doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists, and physical therapists between 2014 and 2021, and you were the only person who identified my hip as being the issue as opposed to working on my groin and knee.

One year post surgery and I have lost 20 lbs, I'm walking around at my fighting weight, and I even recently started sparring again for the first time in 5 years. Boxing only, but it's better than nothing! There are no words that can truly capture how grateful I am for you putting me on the right track. Thank you so much!

This is an email I received yesterday. It made me even more grateful for the trust my patients place in me. Thank you all! πŸ™πŸΌ

Happy Thanksgiving to all my patients!!! Please know how grateful I am for all the trust you have placed in me over the years. It is deeply humbling and always touches my heart. It gives me purpose and a desire to do better every time. Wishing you and yours a magical day. Much love. ❀️

Ever wonder what the medical definition of a tendon is? Are you curious as to its anatomical composition? Well here is a great explanation.

Anatomy Of A Tendon: β€œA tendon is a tough, flexible band of dense connective tissue that serves to attach skeletal muscles to bones. Tendons are found at the distal and proximal ends of muscles, binding them to the periosteum of bones at their proximal (origin) and distal attachment (insertion) on the bone. As muscles contract, the tendons transmit the mechanical force to the bones, pulling them and causing movement.

Being made of dense regular connective tissue, the tendons have an abundance of parallel collagen fibers, which provide them with high tensile strength (resistance to longitudinal force). The collagen fibers within a tendon are organized into fascicles, and individual fascicles are ensheathed by a thin layer of dense connective tissue called endotenon. In turn, groups of fascicles are ensheathed by a layer of dense irregular connective tissue called epitenon. Finally, the epitenon is encircled with a synovial sheath and attached to it by a delicate connective tissue band called mesotenon.”

You know you're doing something right when a doctor refers their husband to you.

07/07/2023

It's always great to start my day off with a text like this:

Good morning, Barry! I want to thank you for your healing powers! The wrench that was tightening around my neck is now gone!.... Thanks again for all of your care. I don't know what I would do without you!πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’•

"N.... is doing great. She told me you helped her a lot and she has been doing the exercises daily and she said she feels so much better. I cannot thank you enough, you have always taken such wonderful care of me and my family. I greatly appreciate it."

The above text may be the greatest I've ever received considering it's from a very special doctor at Children's Hospital. ❀️

Today was supposed to be a day off but when a long standing patient wants me to work on their 12yo son who's having hip pain, it becomes a work day. Few things are more humbling than when someone trusts me with the well-being of their child.

When a doctor from Children's Hospital brings you their child to treat, you must be doing something right. πŸ˜‰

Receiving cards in the mail is always wonderful!

"Thanks Barry. I really appreciate your finding time to help me and you really helped. Feeling energized and more like myself."
