Wellness benefits for yoga and wellness teachers should not be a luxury, they should be a given. And yet, as lead teacher and Head of Community, Lyndsay Allyn Cox shares: this not the normal story.

🌱 Every time Down Under’s teacher-led team opens a new studio, we bring entire families onto healthcare and create more full-time careers for talented teachers.

📈 The school’s growth as an industry disruptor celebrates our ability to offer teachers something rare: full-time careers, health insurance, paid time off, a teacher-written employment contract, a Teacher Leadership Council and a management team almost entirely composed of teachers who’ve been in the industry more than a decade.

As one of those teachers, Lyndsay shares that the problem is not growth — it is balancing growth with care 🙏 Thank you, Lyndsay, for the many ways you model and manifest growth as a powerful force when it’s rooted in values. We celebrate you as a teacher and connector 🌟

Shoulder Stand has long been regarded as a foundational inversion in classical yoga, yet in modern practice it is often rushed, avoided, or reduced to a brief closing posture 🤔 Join Down Under Yoga Director Michael Ponte for an in-depth look at the structure of Shoulder Stand, including history, setup, use of support, and alignment decisions that affect safety, balance, and breath.

Through clear demonstration and guided practice, we’ll explore how thoughtful structure creates the conditions for steadiness, quiet, and ease — allowing the pose to become not just a shape, but a place of rest 🩵

This workshop, Shoulder Stand: Structure and Stillness, prioritizes clarity and precision, offering tools you can apply immediately to your practice. A smart, nourishing way to spend a holiday Monday in the studio.

What does it take to discover your voice as a teacher? 🌱✨ Our 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is designed as a true school of yoga — one that introduces trainees to dozens of master teachers across lineages, methodologies, and perspectives, so you can learn broadly, discern wisely, and teach authentically 🧘‍♀️💫

If you’re ready to deepen your practice, refine your methodology, and step into teaching with clarity and confidence, this is where that work begins 🩵

With mentorship at the heart of the program, trainees are supported not toward imitation, but toward craft: understanding what resonates in your body, your mind, and your teaching, and how to translate that insight into the classroom with confidence.

At the helm is Natasha Rizopoulos, internationally respected teacher trainer, longtime contributor to Yoga Journal, and a leader in advanced sequencing and pedagogy whose decades of experience have shaped teachers around the world 🌍🌟 Alongside Natasha, Justine Wiltshire Cohen, Founder & Director of Down Under, brings visionary leadership and decades of teaching experience — shaping the 300 Hour into a masterful exploration of what elevates teaching from good to truly impactful 🔥

200 hours of dedication, inquiry, and embodied learning ✅🎓 This group didn’t just study yoga; they practiced listening, leading, and showing up for one another with care and integrity. As we graduate our Fall 2025 200 Hour Teacher Training, we celebrate not an ending, but a beginning — one rooted in skill, confidence, and community 🥳

We’re so proud to welcome these graduates into the Down Under lineage. May you teach with clarity, compassion, and a deep respect for the practice and the people in front of you ✨🙏 We can’t wait to see where you go from here!

What happens when we gather — not just to read or move, but for the power of shared strength? Literary Flow: Book Club Meets the Mat is an invitation into community, where yoga, literature, and personal story become pathways for connection and healing 🫂✨

Join Shawna Lemelman and author Yvonne Castañeda for a warm, reflective evening rooted in ‘Pork Belly Tacos with a Side of Anxiety’ — Yvonne’s candid memoir exploring identity, self-worth, and the stories we carry. Together, we’ll listen, share, and recognize ourselves in one another.

📚 We’ll begin in circle with guided conversation around the book’s themes, then move into a heated yoga flow designed to help those insights land in the body, not just the mind. The evening closes with a book signing and refreshments, creating space to linger, connect, and deepen our sense of belonging.

As we deepen into 2026, we practice yoga in its truest sense: bringing harmony between what we envision and how we live 🤲⚡️ Tapping Into Power: A Vision for the New Year with Tatyana Souza () is a ritual space to align intention with action. Rooted in the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) — the center of personal power, clarity, and purposeful movement — this workshop weaves together flow, breathwork, meditation, and creative reflection to help you clarify what truly wants to move through you this year.

Through energizing movement, intentional breath, and focused meditation, we will cultivate inner alignment before giving form to intention through vision board creation — translating vision into lived practice 🌟
