🎆 Headed out for a July 4th getaway? Headed somewhere else for summer vacation? Whether you're flying across the country or road-tripping to the beach, long hours of sitting can quietly increase your risk for blood clots—especially if you're over 40, pregnant, recently had surgery, or taking hormones like birth control.
🧳 Travel-related clots are rare, but they can happen—no matter what seat you're in. Staying still for too long slows blood flow in your legs, and dehydration (common when we avoid drinking to limit bathroom breaks) makes it worse.
Before you hit the road or take off, here’s how to lower your risk:
✅ Get up and move every 1–2 hours
✅ Do ankle rolls or calf raises in your seat
✅ Drink plenty of water
✅ Skip the alcohol and sleep aids
✅ Ask your doctor if you’re at higher risk

Safe travels and stay clot-aware this summer! 🌴✈️
