Peace in our body comes from our body parts working harmoniously together whatever we may be doing. We can nurture body peace by working with the guidance of our Body Intelligence. :)

CAN POSTURAL GADGETS HELP? + TIP

While I was checking out some catalogs for my holiday shopping, I noticed how many posture gadgets are advertised as the answer to people with a posture challenge.
Are they really helpful?

It is a known fact that “Good Posture” is desirable, not just for your looks but also for your mind and body health. Yet, there is a widespread misconception around posture which prevents most people to enjoy "natural good posture". As a result, people everywhere are spending gazillions of dollars on “Posture Gadgets or Devices”.

The real question is,
can they bring us back towards
the natural good posture we experienced as a child?

RENEWED PERSPECTIVE & PAST TRAUMA

To focus on my own journey and personal growth, I have taken a well-deserved break from online activities for several months. If you can do that, even for a shorter time, I highly recommend it.
As a result, I had a wonderful summer and many amazing insights to enrich my life and work!

Now, I am ready to come back with a renewed perspective thanks to the silver lining of past trauma now blossoming into yet another dimension for me.

So this 30 minute interview navigates the connection between my artwork, my work with Integrated Functioning and Sensuality. It was fun to talk about an aspect of my work and personality that is not usually talked about.

Sometimes, I feel like I am the Debussy of Holistic Fitness.

Once his teacher said to him that although music was the most sensual of arts, he was surprise no musicians had made a point to express it. Debussy did. It may be the essence of his work and I believe my work implicitly does too whether I teach, draw or paint!:)

TIPS FOR MUSICIANS,
INTEGRATED FUNCTIONING, & YOGIC EXPRESSION

Like in many other expressive fields, playing music can be a technical skill that is acquired over time with practice or it can be a unique artistic expression when the musician and his/her instrument become one. Then, they both become a perfect channel for the music.

To reach this stage, the more your body functions as the integrated whole that it is, the more you can become a channel for the music you play and access the gifted musician within.

Playing music or practicing yoga works best as a true yogic expression when the energy can flow rather than when there is holding in the body.

DESCRIPTION:
Modern Hatha Yoga is not 5000 years old; it is a creation that started in the 19th century under the influence of the bodybuilders who were the gymnasts of that period and who started modern fitness. As modern fitness was emerging, we also found people like François Delsarte and later FM Alexander offering an alternative approach to fitness.

They knew people were disconnecting themselves from their whole body functioning and each of them contributed in their own way to counterbalance this trend that has unfortunately kept thriving in our society.

The Wise Way to Yoga is based on the Body Intelligence Activation Process™. It includes Delsarte's focus on joints and FM focus on activating our postural mechanism through hands-on work. Only it can initially be done without hands-on.

It is about focusing on integrated functioning within a pose or a pose sequence. When applied to yoga, it is about teaching yoga lovers of all levels how to activate their whole-body intelligence.

It lends itself to be taught online which is a great thing these days when online teaching is taking over the field of education and will do so increasingly going forward.

This presentation will be both verbal and experiential although it is not a yoga class per se. The level of experience will vary depending on the number of participants. This presentation does include Q & A.

NECK TENSION, NATURAL vs FAKE JOINTS

Have you ever wondered why are EXCESS TENSION and POOR POSTURE in daily life such common problems? Even with people who know a lot about anatomy and those exercising regularly.

The fact is that you can only be mindful of what you are aware of. And how people misuse their hinges is not commonly in their range of awareness until they hurt.

ONE REASON FOR THIS
is a general lack of awareness around how all body parts are designed to function as an integrated whole.

ANOTHER REASON FOR THIS
is a LACK OF CLARITY as to how to use joints appropriately even though it is the first step of functioning as the integrated whole that you are.

UNKNOWINGLY CREATING FAKE JOINTS causes much tension build-up in your muscles and a common habit to lock your real joints whether in daily life or when you exercise.

These habits become a vicious cycle and the HABITUAL WAY feels more natural than the natural way which is quite misleading.
