Steps For Change A community based program specializing in the assessment and treatment of 11 to 21-year-old youths who have engaged in sexually harming behaviors.

Steps For Change is a community-based program specializing in the evaluation and treatment of youth 11 to 21-years-old who have engaged in sexually harming behaviors. The therapeutic foundation is an adaptation of the Good Lives Model™, which identifies sexually harming behavior as a maladaptive attempt to meet one or more basic human needs. Steps For Change is dedicated to working closely with clients’ families and in collaboration with the Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR), and the health and human service (HHS) caseworkers. Services Offered:

Primary Sex-Offense-Specific Treatment (12-14 months)
Population: Youth at low to moderate risk to sexually reoffend
Sexual Boundaries Programming (4-6 months)
Population: Youth at low risk to sexually reoffend
Aftercare/transition services from residential sexual-offense-specific treatment (4 to 12 months)
Psychosexual Evaluation-Treatment recommendations for youth who have not yet received a psychosexual evaluation
General Eligibility for Programming:

Youth living in community
Sufficient time remaining on court-ordered supervision to complete treatment goals
Psychosexual evaluation completed by Steps For Change or by another qualified professional
Special populations served: Females, youth under age 12, youth with developmental disabilities
