Repost from this beautiful infographic highlights the tremendous impact emotionally immature parenting can have. So many parents did the best they could but they did the best they could with what they knew. Sometimes that wasn’t enough and it’s ok to name that. It is possible to hold two truths: they did their best AND it wasn’t enough/they missed some key things u needed.

As a therapist who focuses on s*xuality, gender, kink and various relationship structures I find it refreshing to see a more nuanced conversation being had about “casual s*x.” As this post indicates casual s*x doesn’t have to mean unintentional s*x. Casual s*x doesn’t have to equal s*x without intimacy, connection, sensitivity or care. What does casual s*x mean to you? Is there room for that definition to be more expansive?
