SS25. The past two seasons have been laden with milestones—standout moments clarifying what matters most.
I watched the next generation of my family step into their passions: Gabe earned his Masters at Berkeley, sweet Joie graduated from preschool, James’ trumpet playing honored Kenny Dorham at Dizzy’s Lincoln Center.
All reminders that we’re here to grow into who we’re meant to be, in our own time, in our own way.
As great a connector as ever, yoga carried me from a matrimonial dance floor in Rochester (Congratulations, Nicole + Scott!) accompanying dear Kate, to a retreat in Greece sharing intimate insights and inspiring meals.
Community isn’t just who shows up in the studio—it’s who we become when we show up for each other, in every corner of life.
There were endings and beginnings, too.
Moving from the Brooklyn apartment where Mike and I built our first 8 years of marriage, while designing a dream home infused with warmth, beauty, light, and memory.
From a ONEYOGAHOUSE shoot with lululemon’s global sports marketing team [model for a day…!], to a special Align Campaign celebration with our work-study team, gathering friends old and new for Montauk sessions, creative collaborations…I’ve been reminded of why I do this work.
It’s not just about running a business in New York. It’s about creating space for US to transform, commune, and allow joy to take root.
Then there was the gift of simply being present. Dinners with friends and family, dancing and playing, Paul Simon under the stars, countless frisbee sessions at the beach with Frankie, birthday celebrations in Antiparos and NYC, books that linger (highly recommend The Artist and the Feast).
Running a yoga studio in New York, leading retreats across the world, and living a full, unexpected, beautiful life all require the same thing: my life, my practices, my teachings, our communities, are all made radiant by carving out space for art, rest, play, and presence.
Joy isn’t something to chase. It’s always here, waiting in the now.
