Struggling to work exercise into your weekly routine? Think NEAT!

NEAT stands for Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis, and you’re usually doing it even when you’re not thinking about it!

Playing with your kids or pets at the park?
Running errands?
Opting to pick up groceries or takeout instead of getting delivery?

That’s NEAT.

Even if it doesn’t FEEL like exercise, it’s still a good way to work in extra activity without actually thinking about it. It’s also a good way to work your way up to an exercise routine if you don’t know where to start.

Read more on my blog! Link in bio and today’s story.

What are some other things you can do to increase your NEAT?

It’s FRIDAY!

If you’re anything like me, the end of the week is a peak time to get hit by that “I just can’t even” feeling. You know the one: You’re tired, you’ve been trying to take care of yourself all week, and now your energy is dropping and the last thing you want to spend your mental load on is meal planning.

You can TOTALLY make takeout meals work for your nutrition journey. But you can also make dinner at home that’s delicious and requires almost NO brainpower.

My favorite? Pizza!

Here’s how I make extremely easy at-home personal pizzas that are fully customizable depending on your nutrition goals.

Have a great weekend!

Nutrition isn’t just about food — I also work with patients to figure out their exercise and movement plan.

If you have PCOS, this can be so essential for managing your symptoms and improving your health over time. But don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be a wild lifestyle change or include vigorous/tiring exercise every day.

In fact, you’re better off with moderate activity!

If you’re still struggling to come up with a way to move your body every day, here’s what I recommend to start.

ICYMI, I also have a whole blog about this! Link in bio and story!

Spring has sprung! Before we get hit with another cold front in NYC, I think this is the perfect time to talk about exercise and how it can impact PCOS.

For those with a PCOS diagnosis, exercise is not just about fitness, weight, or how you look. It can positively impact so many aspects of your health — as long as you stay consistent.

How do you do that, you might ask? I wrote some helpful (and DOABLE) tips on today’s blog!

Fiber seems to be the big nutrition buzzword these days, and for good reason!

One of the most common issues I see in patients (regardless of condition) is that they could always use a little more fiber intake.

For those with and without PCOS, I suggest working up to about 25g of fiber per day (and, of course, plenty of fluids).

This not only helps you stay full and satisfied for longer, but fiber has a huge impact on heart, gut, and overall health.

And guess what? It can be done by changing some small habits!

Here’s what I suggest for lunch:

Your triglycerides might be pointing to a serious health issue. First of all, don’t freak out.

Sometimes these levels can be affected by your medications, underlying conditions, or maybe you just forgot to fast before your test (it happens!).

If you’ve ruled those out, there are some steps you can take to reign in your triglyceride levels. And yes, they involve some lifestyle changes….but it’s simpler and more doable than you think!

Here’s what I suggest.

ICYMI: More information about triglycerides can be found on my latest blog. Link in bio and today’s story!

Everywhere I look, it’s all about fiber, fiber, fiber.

Fiber is a big topic in nutrition, and if you have PCOS, it’s so important to get enough fiber to support your digestion, fullness, satiety, cardiovascular health, mental health, gut health, and hormone balance.

Of course, even if you don’t have PCOS, it’s always a good idea to squeeze a little more fiber into your diet for a variety of reasons! Most people with (and without) PCOS benefit from gradually working toward at least 25g fiber/day, with plenty of fluids.

If you’re wondering how you can do that easily at breakfast time, here’s what I suggest.

🔥NEW BLOG!🔥

So your lab results just came back and they’re high. Don’t panic.

Having elevated triglycerides can lead to some serious conditions. If you’ve ruled out everything else that might have elevated your lab result, now you have to look at diet and lifestyle changes that can help you lower your levels.

Here’s what to do.

I love my patients and their feedback is so important to me!

I’ve been lucky enough to practice with so many kind, wonderful individuals to help them reach their goals, nourish themselves, and live life to the fullest.

Deeply touched by this more recent feedback I received on Google and Zocdoc!

If you live in NY/NJ, I’d love to work with you! Check me out through the link in my bio!
