Not to be missed!
July 19 + 20 with — SUMMER SCHOOL! Deep dive into everything hands-on adjustments.

Teaching yoga for the past ~20 years has reconfirmed for me that all bodies are unique. As such, I will not teach a set of prefabricated or memorized assists. Instead, we will probe ways to co-create a dialogue with each student in your class to help them realize their own wisdom and blindspots through the art of touch. This workshop will add depth and sophistication to your teaching by practicing hands-on assists appropriate for both group and private sessions. We’ll approach assisting as a practice that goes beyond the physical through explorations of intention and deep observation. Through detailed hand-on demos, we will delve into the more technical and anatomical aspects of assists. We will also investigate how the breath, organs, and more subtle layers of our students factor into every exchange.

Let’s create community together at Kula through this intimate, vulnerable, and empowering artform.

What we will cover (NOT IN LECTURE FORM!!! This will be very hands-on and discussion-based):

—Philosophy of assists and touch
—Empowering students through touch
—How to observe and listen to (NOT READ!!!) bodies
—Anatomical and intentional alignment
—Dynamic assists
—Passive and active assists
—Professionalism and legal responsibilities

If timing or finances are an issue, please reach out to rebecca@ketchumyoga.com and we can work something out.

Summer BREATHWORK CIRCLE with .menzies is happening this Sunday, June 29, in SoHo! 3—4.30pm!

Breathwork is an invitation to return to the body’s innate wisdom through intentional breath, grounding connection, and emotional release. This powerful practice supports mental clarity, softens the grip of limiting beliefs, and helps clear stagnant emotions held in the body.
The experience begins with intention setting and gentle movement to ground the body, then flows into active breathing. This circle is rooted in a dynamic three-part breathing pattern, with all inhales and exhales flowing through the mouth. Each breath becomes a rhythmic exchange between effort and surrender—inviting presence, insight, and a sense of renewal. As the breath settles, we move into a deeply restorative savasana to integrate, rest, and return home to ourselves.

This is a space to feel what’s present, soften the mind’s grip, and reconnect with the quiet wisdom beneath it all.

Divine Union & Twin Flames: Summer Solstice Sound Bath with Sacred Activations

Masculine and Feminine are two polar but inter-dependent energies expressed in this realm of duality. They have little to do with male and female, and we all have both energies within.

To balance out the chaos and suffering on our planet, both masculine and feminine energies must evolve from their distorted to Divine expressions. When this happens, Sacred Union is achieved, and peace and harmony prevail.

This Divine Union also manifests as Twin Flames, a sacred union between two humans that often triggers sudden awakenings and demands the twins face all distorted aspects of the self. We can only come into a Twin Flame Union when we have achieved Union of the feminine and masculine within. And we are here to become living expressions of this Sacred Union, complete balance, the Oneness of Source.

Join One Nation Sound for a very special Summer Solstice Sound Bath with Sacred Activations & Reiki to call in Divine Union. We clear the distorted masculine and feminine to make way for Divine expressions that create the space for Sacred Union in our lives and in the world.

Your Pelvic Floor + Deep Core: An Afternoon of Empowerment through Pelvic Floor Yoga, Holistic S*x Ed, Embodiment Coaching + Feminine Wisdom

Saturday May 31, 3—6pm in WILLIAMSBURG

Taught by Liz Ilgenfritz: ERYT-500 Yoga Teacher, Holistic S*x Educator, Embodiment Coach + Feminine Wisdom Guide.

Your pelvis and core are two deeply personal and powerful spaces of the body. They are the storehouses of your personal power, creative source, sensuality + stability. Life can cause these spaces to become armored + disconnected, blocking these vital energies within us. This workshop will empower you with wisdom, resources and self-knowledge to reveal strength + ease physically, mentally, and emotionally.

In this workshop you can expect to:
-Connect with your Pelvic Floor + Core through postures, breath, and embodiment coaching
-Learn about the anatomy, physiology, and energetic essence of your pelvis, pelvic floor, and core
-Unlearn bad habits and inaccurate instructions
-Gain practical techniques for building + maintaining a healthy core and pelvic floor.
-Receive instructions you can take into your daily life and into your group classes.
-Discuss sexual desire, pleasure, or**sm, and sexual response cycles.

Together we will practice:
-Poses and breath to lengthen and strengthen, engage, and relax these vital muscles.
-Posture and alignment to access the ‘deep core’; the “keystones” of the body for effortless strength and vitality.
-Core-strengthening from the inside out.
-Breath, Mudra + Movement to facilitate connection and vitality

We will hold space for:
-Self-inquiry + Reflection as we explore our inner landscape as women today.
-Consider how these sacred spaces relate to and from your sense of your sexuality.
-Owning, Releasing, and Celebrating the truth of our inner experience.
-Expressing + witnessing in the sacred space of sisterhood.

Join this weekend for a deeply relaxing exploration of your subconscious and learn how to break the cycles of repetitive negative thinking, worry, and doubt. This workshop will be both educational and experiential. You’ll discover how your subconscious impacts your daily life and gain tools for disrupting old patterns and releasing unconscious blocks that keep you stuck. Then, you’ll be guided on a relaxing hypnosis journey to dissolve negative self-talk, boost confidence, increase motivation, and activate the power within.

Why Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation, focused attention, and heightened awareness.

We naturally go in and out of a hypnotic state several times throughout the day—while daydreaming, falling asleep, reading, scrolling, or taking a familiar route. When it’s intentional, hypnosis can be an extremely effective painless tool for retraining the brain for desired results.

Hypnosis allows us to tap into our subconscious in order to reprogram thoughts and emotions responsible for unwanted behavior, self-sabotaging patterns and beliefs, uncomfortable emotions, and hard-to-break habits. The subconscious governs our actions, beliefs, and perceptions, and it’s where we operate from 88-95% of the time. Serving as an archive of our lived experiences, it shapes how we interpret the world, making it a crucial aspect of our identity. This is why hypnosis is such a powerful tool for positive change.

Escape for an early summer getaway to the Western Catskills courtesy of + !

Slip gracefully into the summer season with two of Kula’s OG teachers and long time besties Nikki and Oceana! Get ready for an epic long weekend to unwind, immerse yourself in nature and good company and kick off your summer in the wilds of the Catskills. Enjoy three days of strong yoga (and coffee), hiking, creeking, shopping in quaint towns or sunning at the lake, sweaty sauna sessions and, knowing these two, a cocktail or two at sunset. There’s a spot for everyone! Whether you snag a room in the main log cabin home, share space in the loft, seek privacy in a lake-side house down the road or commune with nature and camp, you’ll be cozy and well taken care of. Between the epic food by Chef Paco, the nourishment of nature and the transformational somatic practices, you’ll leave feeling restored, revitalized and reconnected to yourself.

This is an intimate retreat at a private home which sits between the hamlet of Andes (10 minute drive) and the slightly bigger town of Margaretville. These two towns offer a beloved small-batch craft cidery, antiques, a well curated art gallery, a curious bookstore, a hidden gem of a vintage clothing store, and the Andes Rail Trail which offers a meandering hike through the forest and along the mountain ridge. Both Nikki and Oceana have spent copious amounts of time in the area—they have scoped out the best swimming holes, hikes, local lakes and secret spots—and they can’t wait to share the magic of the Catskills with you!

Arrival: Thursday evening June 26th in time for dinner or any time after
Departure: Sunday June 29th after Yoga and brunch
Investment: Prices range from $800-$1500
Early Bird discount available if you register by May 25.

The Western Catskills are accessible via car (it is a 3 hour drive from NYC) or via bus (www.trailwaysNY.com). If you take the bus to Margaretville, NY we can arrange to pick you up!

SPRING GROUNDING!

Sign up now and give our Kula gal some love on May 18 - Sunday in SoHo from 2—4pm.

Join Jen for an afternoon of asana and pranayama, where we’ll have time to connect with breath, move the body, and restore.

For a lot of us, spring is a time where we can root and ground in our lives before the busyness of the summer. During this time, connecting with our bodies and our breath can help establish this groundedness.

We will start by moving through a full strong asana practice, Jen’s usual vigorous creatively-sequenced flow, but then, toward the end of the practice, we will have a chance to let go deeply in a series of restorative postures, and we will close the practice with some simple calming pranayama exercises - a special mix of movement and breath that will leave you feeling strong, relaxed and balanced!

This class is not intended for beginners, but you are always welcome to modify the practice to fit how your body is feeling. Physical assists will be offered.
