Experiences with paper, the start of the Shelter project.
Traditionally, puerh tea is pressed into flat round shapes called "bing", then wrapped into a square of rice paper printed with the information about the tea.
After finishing puerh cakes the rice paper wrappers are collected, sorted and glued into a patchwork with rice glue.
Each new sheet contains memories and stories of the many people involved in the life of the tea, farmers, makers, sellers and drinkers all share the Spirit if Tea at once when spending time with tea...

The Shelter project is a ephemeral installation of a tea-wrapping paper tea hut conceived for the 2026 paper biennal.
