Ok, guess who's in their 30s and who's in their 70s... gulp!!! She has over 20k more steps than me?! Seriously, I learn something from my patients every day. When I ask her to have a seat in the waiting room she doesn't sit. She MARCHES IN PLACE. Love my healthy seniors, so very inspiring ❀️ πŸ’– πŸ’—

❀️‍πŸ”₯FDNY Ner Tamid Society Dinner Part 2/2

In contrast to other dinners that I've attended celebrating people's contributions to their field, recognition in this industry often involves dying for the cause. It's both heartbreaking and awe inspiring. I was so humbled by the bravery of the family members who continue to march forward and show up for the cause. Everyone goes home from the dinner while they're left with the reality.

Congrats boys and girls on 100 years, continue to stay safe and God Bless.

PS Hadassah magazine is not actually my side hustle but kudos to the man who was featured on the cover! πŸ˜‰ Turner wherever you are, I looked up the article and it was great!! Hadassah-approved!

And ALSO we piloted Auracast with DJ Jordan at the dinner so hearing aid users could connect directly to the speeches like Bluetooth and it was πŸ’ͺ🏻

πŸ’«πŸ”₯Ner Tamid Society Dinner Part 1/2

Hard to put this experience into words. On Thursday we supported our close friends at the Centennial Gala for the FDNY Ner Tamid Society (Jewish Fraternity for Firefighters/EMS). Incidentally that morning I was in Manhattan and visited the 9/11 Memorial. Throughout the evening we heard so much about the deep roots of Jewish people within FDNY over the last 100 years. I was blown away sitting with the honorees, former fire commissioner Robert Tucker and Rabbi Joseph Potasnik, both hugely impressive Jewish leaders in FDNY. Growing up in an Orthodox family of doctors I never knew any firemen/fire families personally, but I am catching up now and have tremendous respect for you all.

((Turns out my late father in law worked for the FDNY as a software engineer for 12 years and helped develop the STARFIRE system.)) CONTINUED IN NEXT POST.

Ner Tamid Society (Jewish FDNY) Centennial Gala honors 9/11 responders

05/15/2026

One of the most powerful moments of the FDNY Ner Tamid (Jewish FDNY Society) Centennial Gala we attended last night was when they asked everyone in the audience who responded on 9/11 to stand up and be recognized... wow!!!! In the presence of greatness. Jewish pride is alive and well! Thank you to our heroes!!! We feel so honored to support our dear friends and leadership. So many thoughts and more to share in my next post. Happy weekend everyone πŸš’ New York City Fire Department (FDNY)

Last week I was graciously invited to a health fair at Cross River Bank in NJ, educating my husband's company on their hearing wellness! Got to see many younger folks in the 30-50 range who don't need hearing aids... the goal at this stage is prevention and early identification of hearing loss. Hence my earplugs swag for concerts, weddings, shooting and travel! Proud of the fun nutritionist next to me who was way more popular for this crowd 🀩, and I got to meet Success Street, LLC who is another amazing boss lady psychologist!!! Had dinner afterwards with some really smart people from the bank and overall it was a really fun experience. New caricature hanging in my office 😻

Medical Mysteries, Working Mom Edition

It's 7:23am and bus is coming for the 4 year old at 7:30. Usually it takes 5 minutes to get him dressed.
Said child has been up partying since 6am so you assume you are running ahead of schedule.
Instead, you go to your son's room to get his clothing and find that we are locked out with no one inside...
Skeleton key is nowhere to be found.
Tick tock, its 7:25!
Your workday flashes before your eyes.
Think quick!! πŸ˜‡

Happy Mother's Day to all the rockstar mothers out there! Water station, tissue station, jacket dumping station. Blessed, exhausted, overwhelmed and full of love. I am reminded almost daily by my wise patients that the days are long but the years are short. Sending special hugs to those yearning to be moms, those missing their moms and those moms who wish they could go back in time. πŸ’œ

Did you know? Hearing aids last around 4-5 years with proper maintenance. Warranties typically end by year 3. This gentleman has been my patient since 2021 and just got his 2nd set of hearing aids. Check out the new look for 2026! Keep looking because you don't see them! We had a great run with his first set but it was time for something new πŸ˜„ Aging gracefully and keeping his look sharp through his 80s. Thank you for trusting me with your ears πŸ™πŸ»
