The Twerkshop: Using Our Hips to Heal

Our hips hold memory, emotion, power, and lineage.
When we move them with intention, we interrupt stagnation, restore flow, and return to the body as a site of wisdom and healing.

This three-hour workshop is an invitation to explore twerk as medicine—
through hip opening movement, sacral chakra activation, cultural and historical context, confidence building, and deep embodied release.

✨ Facilitated by — artist, Hoochie Priestess, and lineage-rooted healer whose work is grounded in African American culture, spirituality, love, and liberation.

January 11, 2026, 2–5 PM EST, Grand Street Healing Project in Brooklyn, NY

Come home to your hips.
Come back to your body.
Let movement do what words cannot.

Winter is a natural invitation to slow the body, quiet the mind, and listen more closely to what has been unfolding beneath the surface.

Shaped by ’s Soft Alchemy ethos, Winter Soul Sanctuary is a response to that invitation—a gentle approach to inner work that honors slowness, embodied presence, and the wisdom that arises when we listen rather than push.

During this gathering, we’ll gather in a grounded, supportive container to soften into stillness, reflect on what the past year has revealed, and listen for the intentions ready to be carried forward—not through force or urgency, but through presence and care. This is a practice of honoring the pause and trusting what emerges when rest is allowed.

Together, we’ll move through breath, guided meditation, and quiet integration to cultivate clarity, groundedness, and gentle renewal. Toward the end of our time, there will be space for journaling and optional reflection, allowing insights to settle and take root in an unhurried way.

You’re invited to create a cozy sanctuary for yourself—perhaps with a journal and pen, tea, candles, blankets, or anything that helps your nervous system feel at ease.

Come exactly as you are, and let this be a moment of return.

Join Aki as she returns to Brooklyn for this special end of year ceremony on NYE! 🌹

As the year turns, we gather in person to honor what has passed, release what no longer serves, and step into 2026 with spaciousness to expand into our aligned expression.

This ceremony is a devotional practice of reflection, ritual, and energetic cleansing through the Curanderismo healing art of Rose Limpia, taught by Maestras Rita Navarette Perez and Antonia Gonzalez. At the heart of this year’s gathering lies the Sevenfold Blessing, drawn from the teachings shared by Mary Magdalene and fused with the medicine of the Blessings written in the Dead Sea Scrolls. I do not identify as Christian, and this is not a Christian practice—but I hold these teachings as a liberatory framework, offering insight from spiritual, feminist, and decolonial perspectives. Once distorted as the “seven deadly sins” by the Roman Church, part of a broader patriarchal and colonial structure, this teaching is reclaimed here as tools for awareness, growth, and embodiment, helping us honor every part of our human experience—joy, grief, challenge, and triumph—as blessings along our path of transmutation.

The rose is our medicine: petals that sweep the heart, thorns that remind us of resilience and necessary offerings, fragrance that calls us into deeper devotion. Blessings serve as the lubricant of the spirit, softening the grip of fear and shame, integrating our experiences, and allowing the sweetness of life to flow through body and psyche.

Together, we will:

*Engage in Rose Limpia, a ritual for clearing, grounding, and renewal.

*Explore the Sevenfold Blessing as a tool for expansive awareness, transforming the powers of ego into teachers and allies in daily life.

*Reflect on the past year, release what no longer serves, and set intentions for the year ahead.

*Create a community altar to honor the passing year and memorialize experiences.

*Engage with oracle cards for deeper reflection and psychic investigation.

*Hold space for ritual offerings, meditation, and heart-centered devotion, leaving nourished, fortified, and inspired.

After the holidays, after the closeness, after the noise,
attention becomes a form of self care.

Attention to the body.
Attention to the breath.
Attention to what is asking to soften and settle.

This community Reiki gathering is an invitation to offer that kind of generosity to yourself.

A space to receive, to recalibrate, to come back into the body with gentleness.

Join us December 29, from 4-8 PM on Zoom for a moment to come back to yourself after the business.
