Jisin exemplifies excellence in occupational therapy through her professionalism, leadership, and dedication to patient-centered care. Born in India and raised in Doha, she brings a unique multicultural perspective that helps her connect with and treat diverse patient populations with empathy and skill.

She is deeply committed to mentoring her team and delivering thoughtful, effective interventions that improve patient independence and outcomes—making a meaningful impact on both her patients and the department every day.

A huge Sigma shout-out and congratulations to the next of our Week 3 OT Month winners, Brenda Gawarecki, OTR at Onondaga Center!!! 🎉👏

Jocelyn, Brenda’s DOR, had this to say about her:
“Brenda has been a member of the Onondaga Center team for the past four years. She consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to both patient care and student education, regularly accepting at least one OTA student each year.

Brenda represents the core tenets of occupational therapy, keeping her residents at the heart of EVERYTHING she does at Onondaga Center. Within the department, Brenda is known for her willingness to step in wherever needed.

She consistently goes above and beyond to support both her patients and her team, especially in the absence of a rehab aide she has enthusiastically taken on extra tasks to keep the department running. It’s very common to walk through Onondaga Center and hear Brenda’s and her patients’ laughter ringing through the facility as they giggle their way through an OT session.

One of Brenda’s patients stated, “Brenda’s smile is pure energy and that in itself brings joy to everyone.””
