Dieting vs ExerciseFood vs Fitness
Some interesting medical studies compared very low calorie dieting alongside different types of fitness. The goal was to assess weight loss and bone loss in older adults. Participants were randomly split into four groups: dieting, dieting plus fitness, fitness without dieting, and neither/none . A follow up study broke the fitness groups down further into three groups of aerobic, strength training, and both (and none, for control).
Both studies showed all the dieting groups lost weight, whereas the fitness without dieting groups did not, however , , ,
