After a long and very warm summer, stay alert for the possibility of Blue-green Algal blooms, also known as cyanobacterial blooms. Several lakes have recently experienced "blooms." Here is a link to the status of waterbodies monitored by CT DEEP. When in doubt, keep your dog and kids out, and report the site. https://ctparks.com/water-quality-report

A staff member at a Brooklyn veterinary clinic recently had a moving and heartwarming experience at work, which we wanted to share. A client, overhearing soft crying while passing by a closed door, asked if someone was saying a final goodbye to their dear animal companion. The staff member confirmed this, and the client removed a ring from her finger and handed it to the staff member. It was a pet memory ring that someone had given to her after her pet's loss, and she wanted to share it so that newly grieving pet owners would know that others cared about their sorrow. We were all deeply touched by this simple yet powerful gesture of compassion and connection.
We are grateful for the amazing clients who trust their dearest friends in our care. 🙏
