HSA funds are meant to be used for healthcare — yet thousands of dollars go unused every year simply because people wait too long.

At New York Sports Acupuncture, we regularly help patients understand how HSA funds may apply to:

Cold weather is here — and the knee pain is real.

When temperatures drop, synovial fluid thickens, circulation slows, muscles tighten faster, and old injuries resurface. In TCM, cold contracts the channels, creating stiffness, heaviness, and sharp pain.

In tonight’s video, I break down why this happens and how to protect your joints this season using simple strategies, warming foods, mobility techniques, and targeted acupuncture.

Seasonal Wisdom for Autumn

In Eastern Medicine, specifically the Tao, autumn is the season of the Lungs and Large Intestine.

These are organs that remind us of the importance of both taking in and letting go. Just as the trees release their leaves, our bodies and minds are called to release what no longer serves us.

The autumn is the time to:

* Strengthen your immune system.

* Support healthy digestion and elimination.

* Breathe deeply, reflect, and embrace simplicity.

Some practical steps for you to take are:

* Eat Warm, nourishing foods (ie. soups, root vegetables, pears)

* Practice mindful breathing + Qi Gong.

* Drink herbal teas that protect Lung health like fresh ginger.

* Make time for regular movement to keep circulation flowing.

When we live in harmony with the seasons, we give our bodies the chance to thrive naturally. We do this one season at a time.

Combining electric stimulation acupuncture with infrared heat can boost circulation and melt away stiffness. Imagine waste matter in the neck, knees, or back dissolving away, easing pain and restoring your body. It's about getting back to feeling like yourself.

Acupuncture shines a light on the body's healing process. When a needle punctures the skin, it sets off an alarm, triggering a healing response. It's wild to think about the body's ability to restimulate its healing response again and again. Have you ever experienced this?

Acupuncture can help the body heal itself, working to resolve pain without relying on medication. Instead of masking discomfort, it gets to the source — promoting overall well-being. "You just don't feel like yourself" when relying on constant pain relievers.

Acupuncture offers more than just temporary relief; it taps into the body's natural ability to heal. By understanding the "gate theory," one can block pain signals before they reach the brain. It's wild to think a simple pressure point can turn off the fight-or-flight response. Have you tried this?

Are you feeling like your body could use a fresh start?

These 7 foods are some of my go-to picks for a powerful detox and cleanse juice. They help support your liver, reduce inflammation, and give your digestion a gentle boost naturally.

Put them through your juicer or blender to fuel your day with something that makes you feel good from the inside out.

A pomelo is a large citrus fruit, native to Southeast Asia, and is considered the ancestor of the grapefruit. It has a thick green or yellow rind, pale juicy flesh, and a sweet, mild flavor with a slight bitterness. Pomelos are packed with vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber, making them a popular choice for supporting immune health and digestion.

In Eastern medicine, pomelos are often used to clear phlegm, support lung health, and invigorate energy (qi). They’re also believed to aid digestion and detoxify the body. Due to their cooling properties, they’re especially beneficial during warmer months or when excess heat accumulates in the body.

To me, it tastes like a pleasant grapefruit. Not too sour and not sweet. It’s “refreshing”. Also, it’s not a hybrid fruit.
