Today, Friday, August 1st, marks one year since we first opened the doors of Noir Yoga. 🖤

And one week ago, those same doors were closed due to a devastating leak and flood. The floors were soaked, the walls damaged, and our hearts heavy. But water, in all its force, doesn’t just destroy—it cleanses, purifies, and renews.

Water carves new paths.�Water teaches us to surrender.�Water reminds us to flow with change—not resist it.

As we mark our first anniversary, we’re holding space for both gratitude and grief. This past year has been full of transformation, community, healing, and powerful movement. And now, with this unexpected pause, we’re being offered a different kind of practice: the practice of trust, patience, and becoming.

Our grand reopening will be more than just returning to practice—it will be a celebration of resilience, rebirth, and the waves that carried us here.

Thank you for flowing with us. The current is strong, and so are we.

Honoring Memorial Day at Noir Yoga 🇺🇸

Today, we pause in remembrance and gratitude. 🕊️

At Noir Yoga, we recognize that our ability to move, breathe, gather, and heal in community is made possible by the ultimate sacrifices of those who served in the U.S. military. The freedom to practice yoga openly—to stretch into stillness, to reclaim peace, to express ourselves fully—is not a given in all parts of the world. We honor those who gave their lives to protect these freedoms.

This Memorial Day, may we move with mindfulness, breathe with gratitude, and hold space for those we’ve lost. Whether you spend today in reflection, rest, or movement, may your practice be a quiet tribute to courage, service, and the enduring pursuit of peace.

6 Simple Ways to Use Yoga for Mental Well-Being

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, here are small, powerful ways to bring yoga into your day to support your mind:

1️⃣ Start Your Day with Breathwork
3–5 minutes of deep breathing (like box breathing or alternate nostril) can calm anxiety and boost focus.

2️⃣ Practice One Grounding Pose
Try Child’s Pose, Legs Up the Wall, or Mountain Pose anytime you feel overwhelmed.

3️⃣ Pair Movement with Journaling
After class or home practice, write down one thing your body or mind is trying to tell you.

4️⃣ Do a Gentle Flow in Nature
Take your mat outside—even just 10 minutes in the park can regulate your nervous system.

5️⃣ Use Yoga as a Screen Break
Between meetings or errands, pause for 3 sun breaths or a standing forward fold.

6️⃣ Join a Class and Be in Community
