PROGRESS UPDATE!!! Named in honor of Mercy Home’s former Executive Director, Sister Kay Crumlish, Kay’s Place (487 4th Avenue) will be located in the newly re-zoned GOWANUS area of Brooklyn. This 11-story building will house 44-mixed income, mixed-use housing units. It will provide affordable housing options to deserving New Yorkers and dually dedicate permanent residency to 10 intellectually and/or developmentally disabled individuals with ADA compliant 1-bedroom units, on the first floor so they may live more fully integrated in their community. To enhance the buildings aesthetic and support the well-being of the residents, the design will incorporate a green roof for all tenants to enjoy outdoor recreation. There will also be gardens that Mercy Home’s Horticulturists and the individuals apart our Plant-Grow-Give program will maintain and upkeep to benefit the residents with the fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs grown.
