Set up, operate, or tend lathe and turning machines to turn, bore, thread, form, or face various materials.

Essential Job Functions:
Inspect sample workpieces to verify conformance with specifications, using instruments such as gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators.
Ability to read blueprints, layouts or charts, and job orders for information on specifications and tooling instructions, and to determine material requirements and operational sequences.
Ability to adjust or offset machine controls or tool settings in order to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
Move controls to set cutting speeds and depths and feed rates, and to position tools in relation to workpieces.
Start lathe or turning machines and observe operations to ensure that specifications are met.
Select cutting tools and tooling instructions, according to written specifications or knowledge of metal properties and shop mathematics.
Run machines through cycles, stopping to adjust tool positions and machine controls to ensure specified timing, clearances, and tolerances.
Lift metal stock or workpieces manually or using hoists, and position and secure them in machines, using fasteners and hand tools.
Ability to know when to replace worn tools or inserts.
Position, secure, and align cutting tools in toolholders on machines, using hand tools, and verify their positions with measuring instruments.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Essential Job Functions:
Machine parts to close tolerances in a safe manner to produce quality parts.
Set-up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
Select the appropriate machines, cutting tools, and materials to be used in preparation of machining work.
Troubleshoot tooling for operation and specification requirements.
Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of shop mathematics.
Measure, examine and test completed parts to detect any defects and ensure conformance to product specifications using calibrated measuring instruments.
Maintain industrial machinery as required. Perform regularly scheduled equipment maintenance.
Sharpen and repair as needed to maintain existing tooling.

Supplemental Job Functions:
Record daily production in computer

Requirements/Qualifications:
Trade School with apprentice training or five years on the job experience
Must be able to read blueprints and utilize a wide variety of measurement instruments to check parts and to verify compliance to quality specifications.
Must demonstrate competence with tool room equipment
Must possess a toolmakers box of hand tools, gauges and instruments.

Other Skills/Abilities:
Able to communicate with supervisors, co-workers and subordinates the progress of assignments.
Analyze information and evaluate results to obtain best solutions and solve problems.

Position Overview: Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material.

Essential Job Functions:
Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
Examine completed workpieces for defects such as chipped edges and marred surfaces, and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, and dimensions and tolerances.
Load workpieces, plastic material, or chemical solutions into machines.
Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material.
Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
Test and adjust machine speeds and actions, according to product specifications, and using gauges and hand tools.
Install, align, and lock specified punches, dyes, cutting blades or other fixtures in rams or beds of machines, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.
Clean and lubricate machines.
Position, align, and secure workpieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dyes.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Essential Job Functions:
-Assist the research and development requirement for new products and procedures
-Achieve design for manufacturability (DFM), quality, and testing targets
-Meet or exceed all customer design and performance criteria
-Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated files
-Ensure compliance to all engineering ISO requirements as determined by the certification officer
-Be able to think out of the box to develop effective solutions to complex engineering problems
-Conduct research on alternative materials and design concepts for DC brushless motors, controllers, and packaging
-Stay current with leading edge electronic components and circuit design concepts that optimize motor efficiency
-Participate in cross functional continuous improvement activities focused on quality, manufacturability, cost reduction, lead time reduction, and product aesthetics
-Work to improve response time to customers, proposal thoroughness, and cost estimate accuracy
-Collaborate to advance and diversify the overall process and design capabilities of the company

Required Qualifications
-Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
-Technical expertise in design of circuit assemblies for power electronics
-Prior career experience in the design and manufacture of electro-mechanical devices including brushless DC motors and motor controllers
-Excellent organization skills
-Strong communication skills
-Experience with DFM techniques and review
-CAD (SOLIDWORKS) or equivalent
-Utilization of Microsoft Office Suite products

Additional Qualifications
-Experience with ERP software and working with costed bills of materials
-Basic knowledge of material science
-Knowledge of ISO 9001-2015
