Our Program Supervisor Stacy Delaney, MSN-Ed, RN, was recently interviewed by ATI Testing to discuss the growing demand for practical nursing education and the critical role LPNs play in today’s healthcare system. ATI Testing, a national nursing education and assessment organization used by our program and others nationwide, supports student learning and licensure preparation.

It’s Delco Gives Day!

The Delaware County Education Foundation is participating in Delco Gives, Delaware County’s largest day of giving, and we’re asking for the community’s support!

The Foundation plays an important role in supporting the work we do across DCIU, helping fund innovative programs and opportunities that directly benefit students in our Practical Nursing Program. Funding creates scholarship opportunities for PNP students, allowing them to pursue their education, overcome financial barriers, and focus on building the skills needed to make a lasting impact in the healthcare field.

It has also helped to fund music therapy programs for children with autism, create specialized learning environments for students with disabilities, and expand CTE and STEM experiences for students. Donor support helps make these meaningful opportunities possible.

Promoting care, connection, and community well-being 💜🩺

We were proud to participate in the Chester Consortium’s event, A Celebration of Maternal Health & Wellness: Rooted in Justice and Joy, over the weekend. Community members, healthcare professionals, and advocates came together to share resources, exchange knowledge, and support stronger maternal health outcomes in our community.

On Saturday, we attended the Second Annual Community Baby Shower hosted by Jefferson Health at the Community Wellness Center in West Philadelphia. The event connected families with essential resources and health support in a welcoming, supportive environment.

On Sunday, students and staff participated in the Autism Awareness Run, organized by Nurse Educator Patricia Tuggle. This event brought participants together to walk and run in support of autism awareness and community connection.

We’re proud of our students for giving back and representing compassionate care in action!👏

A Celebration of Maternal Health & Wellness: Rooted in Justice and Joy will take place on Saturday, April 18 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Drexel Neumann Academy in Chester, PA.

This event brings together community partners, healthcare professionals, and advocates dedicated to improving maternal health outcomes. Attendees can enjoy free food, giveaways, community vendors, educational workshops, and guest speakers focused on maternal health education and resources.

Whether you are a nursing student, graduate, or healthcare professional, this is a valuable opportunity to connect, learn, and support maternal health in our community!
