Consultants in Medical Oncology and Hematology

Consultants in Medical Oncology and Hematology The nation's first Oncology Patient-Centered Medical Home. Our eight board-certified medical oncologis

Over the past 30 years we have successfully developed a medical oncology and hematology practice that provides a full spectrum of specialty services at three office locations, operating within three hospital systems (Crozer-Keystone, Mercy Health, and Main Line Health Systems). We have over 75 staff members including: Oncology Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, protocol nurse managers, Onc

ology Nurse Society (ONS) certified chemotherapy nurses, patient navigators for all patient scheduling needs, and patient billing consultants. At the core of our success is a single-minded focus on providing a high level of service to our referring physician practices, as well as their patients and families. We believe that the level of service provided directly by, or coordinated by, our practice is second to none in our market area – based on: Oncology Physician Network Patient Satisfaction Surveys, Fox Chase Network Auditing Program, National Cancer Center Network Guideline Audits, and Internal Audits of established Patient Management Programs.

Ever grabbed an umbrella just in case it might rain? Most days, the sky stays clear. But on the day the clouds roll in, you’re so glad you prepared.
That’s exactly what an advance directive is. It doesn’t mean something is wrong. It simply gives you and the people you love peace of mind.

Planning ahead isn’t about fear—it’s about care, clarity, and kindness for your future self and those who may need to speak on your behalf.
So go ahead — pack the umbrella. And consider completing an advance directive. Your loved ones will thank you later.

Early detection saves lives—and advocating for yourself matters. If something doesn’t feel right, speak up. Ask questions. Get screened. Talk openly with your care provider.
In a recent podcast, Dr. John Sprandio Jr. and Dr. Alexander Deak sat down with local sports broadcaster and three‑time cancer survivor John Kincaid to discuss the critical importance of cancer screenings, self‑advocacy, and listening to your body. John shares his personal cancer journey and the lessons he’s learned along the way—insights that could truly make a difference for others.
We encourage you to watch the video, listen to the full podcast, and share it with loved ones—because one conversation can lead to earlier detection and better outcomes.

Did you know that certain strains of human papillomavirus (HPV) can affect the throat and mouth—and in some cases develop into oropharyngeal cancer? While most people naturally clear HPV within 1–2 years, the virus can persist in others and lead to serious health issues. Fortunately, there are ways to protect yourself from developing HPV-related cancers. HPV vaccines created to prevent cervical cancer and other reproductive cancers also prevent oropharyngeal cancer.

Great news—cancer survival rates have vastly improved in recent years. The five-year survival rate for all cancers combined in the United States is now 70%, due in large part to advancements in early detection.

Regular cancer screenings are one of the best tools we have in preventing and fighting cancer. The United States Preventive Services Task Force recommends starting screenings at the following ages:

Breast cancer: age 40
Cervical cancer: age 21
Colorectal cancer: age 45
Prostate cancer: age 55
Lung cancer: age 50 for current or former smokers with at least a 20 pack-year smoking history.

Speak to your healthcare provider to discuss appropriate screening for your personal level of risk.
