☀️ Colorado’s sunshine is beautiful, but it also comes with stronger UV rays that can harm your skin and eyes year-round. Due to our high altitude and those who participate in an active outdoor lifestyle, you may face 20–30% more UV exposure than lower elevations.

Whether you’re hiking, biking, or just walking the dog, protecting yourself from the sun is essential, even on cool or cloudy days.

Learn how to stay safe with smart sun habits, the best SPF choices, and why UV protection matters at altitude.

⛳️ The 16th Annual Holes of Hope Golf Tournament was more than a day on the course - it was a powerful reminder of what community-driven care can accomplish. On June 16th, at Lake Valley Golf Club, this cherished tradition brought together 116 players and raised over $70,000 in support of cancer care at B*H’s Tebo Cancer Center.

For 16 years, Holes of Hope has helped provide essential resources, from integrative therapies and financial assistance to emotional support and survivorship programs, easing the journey for those undergoing cancer treatment.

Missed the tournament? There’s still time to make an impact. Your donation helps us deliver compassionate, comprehensive care to patients and families when they need it most. Donate today and learn more at bch.org/foundation

August 1–7 is World Breastfeeding Week 2025!

This year’s theme — “Prioritize Breastfeeding – Create Sustainable Support Systems” — emphasizes that breastfeeding thrives when families have lasting, reliable support. Sustainable support starts at home, extends into communities, and continues through workplaces and health care.

When we prioritize breastfeeding, we’re not only helping babies get the healthiest start in life — we’re strengthening families and building networks that last.

Need support on your breastfeeding journey? B*H’s Family Birth Center offers expert lactation consultants and free phone consultations to guide you every step of the way. Call 303-415-7230 to connect.

🥑 Happy National Avocado Day! While you’re celebrating with your favorite guac, toast, or smoothie, let’s talk about something a little less tasty: avocado hand.

“Avocado hand” refers to hand injuries, caused by improper cutting techniques, especially when trying to remove the pit with a sharp knife while holding the avocado. These injuries can damage nerves or tendons and sometimes require surgery.

Here’s how to keep your hands safe and your avocados delicious:

✅ Use a cutting board — never cut while holding the avocado
✅ Scoop out the pit with a spoon instead of stabbing it
✅ Cut slowly and mindfully — no need for extra force

Let’s keep those hands injury-free and those avocados stress-free.
