FAITH FRIDAYS! ☀️

I am bringing these back since I've been a little MIA on Faith Fridays. I recently read this passage a few days ago when a meditation I listen to had me meditate on it. I couldn't help but to reflect and read it in different translations. I chose not to pick one or two verses since it's a passage of gratitude, thankfulness, and reverence.

David speaks about the beautiful characteristics of God as merciful, forgiving, compassionate, loving, gracious, a guard, guide, and faithful. I specifically picked out the words 'He releases my feet' as a marker to show all of these characteristics. Let this passage be a loud declaration and a gentle reminder of God's love and intention for you, his child. Meditate on this passage and sit in His presence. It will surely 'release your feet' from whatever snare you're currently sitting in.

Hi Friends! 🌞

Wow it's been a hot minute. There has been so much changing lately so if you're still with me, you rock. Update: I still serve clients in Denver and other states however, I have moved to Springfield, IL as of a week ago. I am excited to start building connections here and see where God takes Unchained Mental Performance Coaching.

For those of you that are new to my page and the world of Mental Performance, it's time to lean in. I'll be starting new posts, blogs, workshops, and so much more as I get officially settled here.

Some things about me:

I'm Kelsey and I am a 31 year old small business owner of Unchained Mental Performance Coaching. I am a previous athlete (Gymnast first, dancer second, swimmer and diver & others in between). Ever since I can remember in gymnastics, I've wanted to help athletes through the most challenging parts of their journey including the mental side of injury recovery.

I have two cats: Livie (my littlest baby siamese) & Lyla (my fluffy ragdoll cloud). I took up wedding photography for sometime before trading my camera for the sports world again. I love Jesus and integrate His word and teachings in all that I do. Family is everything to me and I wouldn't be where I am without my two best parental units. I have only been to a handful of places around the world but love different cultures, food, and traveling, however my first love is Kauai.

If you are an athlete, parent, coach, business, believer in Jesus, etc., I have something for you! At Unchained, I am here to work alongside you, your team, your family, corporation, church, or whomever to provide scientifically tools proven to get you to a solution. This solution isn't instant however, it's powerful through the transformation of one simple thing, a change in your thought process.

That being said, what is one thing you've heard in the culture of sport that seems counterintuitive? 👇

One that bugs me is "but did you die?"

📢 Give for Community Support Center Day 2025. 🌍

Healing Hearts, Building Futures 🤏

In Eastern DR Congo, over 7 million people, most of them children, live in displacement. They sleep under plastic tarps, without toys, peace, or safety. But together, we can change that.

🎂 In 2022, our founder, Byolenganya Olo, turned his birthday into a day of joy for children who, like him, grew up forgotten. That single act of love became Community Support Center Day, a celebration bringing food, healing games, art, and dignity to displaced children.

📅 This year, on November 24th, we’re bringing CSC Day to Lusenda Refugee Camp, home to 2,000 children displaced by war.

🎯 Our goal: Raise $15,000 to give them a day of joy, hope, and belonging.

At the Community Support Center (CSC-Asbl), we believe that even the smallest contribution can spark change.

Whether it’s $1, $5, $50, or $1,000, your gift can turn despair into hope.

Faith Fridays ✝️

Scripture:

“I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬ ‭[AMP‬‬]

“In those moments when my muscles burn and my mind whispers ‘quit,’ I remember that my strength comes from something greater than myself. As Philippians 4:13 reminds us, I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me - not just the easy sets, but the painful reps when no one’s watching. Sport psychology teaches us about mental toughness and finding your ‘why,’ but my foundation goes deeper. I’m not just self-sufficient; I’m Christ-sufficient. Today’s training wasn’t about what I can do alone, but what He empowers me to accomplish. ”

Faith Fridays! 💛

“It takes a grinding wheel to sharpen a blade, and so one person sharpens the character of another.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27‬:‭17‬ ‭TPT‬‬

I specifically chose this translation because it speaks to the “grind” that it takes to really shape, mold, reconstruct something. Grinding a wheel and sharpening a blade requires fire, friction, and persistence through pressure. All things to consider when looking to God to refine who you are.

Two things to consider when we choose to “sharpen” each other and be sharpened:

1.) Sharpening iron invoices consistency over time, under pressure with the possibility of discomfort. When you’re grinding in your sport to become the person God created you to be, your character will be tested to make room for purification. The impurities must go. Understanding what you’re up against in your sport will help you to reframe how you see failures, challenges, and problems. Reframing is simply a way to change your mental perspective of your situation. The more you do this, the sharper your blade (you) will be when pressure comes.

2.) Who you surround yourself with will continue to sharpen you as you sharpen them or they won’t understand their own potential and choose to not sharpen you or themselves at all. This can be crucial when it comes to your character and becoming more like Jesus. The voices you allow into your life can bring life or death to you spiritually. If they aren’t sharpening themselves (ie., trusting in the Lord to refine them and make them new), they certainly won’t sharpen you. Make sure your circle can bring out your blind spots and help you grow, not just leave you the way they found you.
