Katrina McLaughlin earned her Master of Acupuncture degree from the Boulder campus of Southwest Acupuncture College. This three year accelerated program consisted of 2,525 hours of education including 1042 hours of clinical practice. As part of her program Katrina completed a certification course in Clean Needle Technique, an externship in sports medicine at the University of Colorado Boulder campus in the athletic department, an externship in geriatrics at Golden West Senior Living, and an internship at the Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine in Harbin, China. Katrina passed three national board exams, is certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is licensed by the state of Colorado to practice acupuncture. Katrina’s training includes adjunctive therapies such as moxibustion, tuina, shiatsu, acupressure, cupping, electrical stimulation, injection therapy, auriculotherapy, nutrition and lifestyle recommendations, functional medicine, and essential oils.
