Hello amazing CVP patients and families!

As we are all settling in to this odd new school year, know that we at CVP continue to closely follow the guidelines and new information that comes out about covid-19. We want to keep you all safe, and luckily, we have seen very little of this illness in our office.

But we need to stay vigilant about other vaccine preventable illnesses, perhaps even more so now, than ever before. So on that note---we now have influenza vaccine available! We won't be holding our usual clinics to give these vaccines, due to Covid-19 restrictions, but will instead be giving them by scheduled appointments. Appointments are available at both Louisville and Broomfield offices.

Why should my child get a flu vaccine?

Some things to keep in mind:
--Influenza vaccine may be given at any time during flu season, but your goal should be to receive it by Halloween so it can be effective when flu season typically starts. It takes about 2 weeks for the vaccine to become effective in your body.
--Some children will require 2 doses, separated by 1 month--these include children 6 months through 8 years old who are getting a flu vaccine for the first time, and children 8 yrs of age and under who have previously only received one dose of flu vaccine in a prior year.
--Yes, we can give parents influenza vaccine when you come with your child. Parents will need to pay $30 for their vaccine (cash or CC), we do not bill your insurance.
--Influenza vaccine is recommended for everyone age 6 months and older, every season.
