Dr. Catherine Weng is a newcomer to the Denver Colorado area, drawn here by her love for the great outdoors. She is a board certified Otolaryngologist head and neck surgeon and is a graduate of the American Academy of Facial and Plastic Reconstruction fellowship program. In addition to traveling for leisure, Dr. Weng has an interest in participating in medical missions. During her fellowship train
ing she traveled to Guatemala, Vietnam and Ecuador with HUGS (Help Us Give Smiles) Foundation performing reconstructive surgery for children born with microtia (underdeveloped ears) and cleft lip and palate. She found these missions to be a life changing experience and plans to continue her participation and support of them here in Colorado. Dr. Weng earned bachelors degrees in both Architecture and Design and Biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. She then earned her medical degree from Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She then continued on to complete her otolaryngology head and neck surgery residency training in Cleveland at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. She was drawn to this specialty because of the complex three dimensional problem solving involved in head and neck surgery, which she felt particularly well suited for with her interest and background in art and architecture. After residency training Dr. Weng completed additional fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery with Dr. Vito Quatela in Rochester, NY. She found in fellowship training unique satisfaction in reconstructive and cosmetic surgical procedures that challenged and inspired her aesthetic and three dimensional problem solving skills. Board Certified in Otolaryngology as a Head and Neck specialist with Fellowship training in Facial Plastics and Reconstruction she is a needed addition to the Denver-Boulder and Rocky Mountain region specialtist community.
