This morning, at the lake, I welcomed in the Fire Horse year. I rattled, and I drummed and sang.❤️‍🔥

I am a fire horse, and I am beyond excited for all that is about to unfold.
I made space for the goodness to come in, the happiness, and yes, the abundance.

I am sitting with the Fire Horse energy that is coming in tomorrow morning at 6:01 am / cst.
I am a Fire Horse born in 1966. I know a lot of us out here and this is our year. Even if you were not born into the sign you can still benefit from the energy of the Fire Horse.

In my 8-week Shamanic Study group last night we took a journey to the Fire Horse New Moon. One of the the things I remembered is that some seeds NEED fire and smoke to be released from the pod and germinate. (AI provided me a list of such plants and I posted that below)

I would offer this up; Meditate or do a Shamanic Journey to the seed within you that needs this fire in order to manifest and grow.
Visit with the Fire Horse and let it help you bring into being that dream that has been lying dormant for however long.

Plants that need fire to grow:
Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum): Heat from fire dries and opens serotinous cones, releasing seeds.

Lodgepole Pine (Pinus contorta): Serotinous cones remain sealed by resin until fire releases the seeds.

Manzanita (Arctostaphylos spp.): Seeds have a hard coat requiring heat to break, often lying dormant for years.

Buckbrush (Ceanothus spp.): A common California shrub that requires fire for germination.

Fire Poppy (Papaver californicum): A "fire follower" that germinates specifically in response to smoke.

Jack Pine (Pinus banksiana): Relies on fire to release seeds from, typically, the upper canopy.

Banksia Species: Australian native plants with pods that open with heat.

Other notable examples: Bush mallow, golden eardrops, whispering bells, and large flowered phacelia.

On March 8, 2026 we will be making Elk Frame Drums!
Come on this sacred journey, in sacred circle, ceremony and community to build your own frame drum from raw materials including the malet.
Registration is open until February 15 to order supplies in time for our time together.
