Greg Locke shared the devastating news that his 20 year old son, Evan Roberts Locke, passed away after suffering cardiac arrest connected to an overdose.

In a deeply emotional statement, Locke wrote, “It’s been a long, hard battle the last few years,” describing the painful journey their family had walked through during Evan’s struggle with addiction.

Locke also acknowledged that Evan’s battle had been very public, saying it became “a warning to many” and even “a punchline to the haters.” Yet in the middle of overwhelming grief, he pointed people back to faith, writing that “even in our deepest pain, the grace of Jesus will sustain us.”

The pastor asked for privacy for the family during this difficult time, noting that Evan leaves behind five heartbroken siblings along with many people who supported and loved him throughout his journey.

Addiction continues to impact families across the country, bringing deep emotional and spiritual pain that often reaches far beyond the individual struggling. Many Christians emphasize the importance of compassion, prayer, restoration, and support for those battling substance abuse and the families walking through it beside them.

Please keep the Locke family in prayer during this heartbreaking season.

God is making a way for healing and freedom on Monday Nights! 🙌🏽
We had full tables across the room and several new faces tonight!
Some come in active addiction needing hope, some come completely sober but are still battling life after sobriety…some come questioning if Jesus is even real and some come to support and love on those who are broken!

No matter the circumstance, the background or the season, God meets us all exactly where we are at and calls us to love one another and heal together! ❤️‍🩹

The bible is not the story of God finding good people and rewarding them; it’s the story of God pursuing wicked people and saving them.

Addicts aren’t weak.
They’re misdirected warriors.

They are evangelists who got interrupted.

All that passion… all that pursuit… all that willingness to go to the lowest places without fear… that was never the problem.

That was the blueprint.

We were always meant for more.
We just chose the wrong “more.”

More Jesus.
More God.
More Holy Spirit.
More prayer.
More worship.
More scripture.

That hunger didn’t come from nowhere. It was placed inside you on purpose.

The very ones who have walked through addiction are often the ones God uses to run straight into the dark and pull others out.

No hesitation.
No fear.
No judgment.

Because you’ve been there.
You speak the language.
You remember those chains.

So if you’re still picking up…it’s time to lay it down.

Not halfway.
Not tomorrow.
Now.

Lay down your life.
Pick up your cross.
Follow Jesus.

Because an interrupted life is a tragedy…
but a redirected life?

That’s a weapon.

And you were never created to waste your fire. 🔥
