It’s gonna be May…which means… it’s national speech language and hearing month!!! Speech pathologist and audiologist help make this world go ‘round and I’m thankful to be a part of it!

Summer fun starts now! ☀️ 🍦🪁🌈🍉💦🎉 Here are some ways to enhance your child’s language this summer:
📕 Library activities and trips- your local library will have a ton of fun groups planned!
💦 Water play with different toys - add bubbles for a car wash, wash dinosaurs or dolls!
🍦 Make homemade ice cream or popsicles together
🐦 Nature hunt - point out what you see, hear, smell!
📷 Make a picture book together of your family trip and “read” it together retelling the activities together
🌳 Play at a local park and make a picnic lunch together

Remember, play is a child’s occupation! This is the best way for them to learn language. Whatever plan you might have, see if within it, you can follow their lead. 💜

May 18th is National Speech-Language Pathologist Day!!!! I absolutely love what I do and am so thankful for this occupation. I didn’t even know what an SLP was until my mom took me to a career counselor and I matched personality wise with an SLP. Boy was that test spot on! Happy SLP Day to all my speechies!!
