Recreational Therapy internships are a vital step in developing competent, ethical, and confident professionals. Through the NCTRC-approved internship process, students complete structured clinical hours under qualified supervision, gaining hands-on experience in assessment, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of therapeutic recreation services.

Internships provide emerging Recreational Therapists with the opportunity to apply
evidence-based practice, build professional judgment, and develop the skills needed to
support social connection, participation, and quality of life.
