It’s Medicare Open Enrollment time!🩺
It’s not the most exciting topic, but every year we see patients confused about their coverage. Here’s the quick rundown 💡
Medicare Advantage (Part C):
➡️ Private plans funded by the government
➡️ You still pay $206.50/month for Part B (2026)
➡️ Usually low or no extra premium, but expect copays, deductibles, and coinsurance
➡️ Often include vision, dental, or hearing
⚠️ That “free eye exam” doesn’t usually apply if you have dry eye, diabetes, cataracts, glaucoma, etc. — those are billed to medical insurance!
➡️ Has networks, referrals, and prior authorizations — which can limit your doctors.
Traditional Medicare:
✅ Part A (hospital) + Part B (medical)
✅ $206.50/month + $288 deductible (2026)
✅ Medicare pays 80%; a supplement (Plan G) covers the rest
✅ Add Part D for prescriptions ($0–$15/month)
✅ No networks, no referrals — see any provider who accepts Medicare.
After the deductible, you’re covered!
Do your own research — but we’ll always recommend Traditional Medicare 💙
