Now back in his hometown, Colby provides family medicine services, DOT physicals, and treatment for acute injuries. Serving the people of Edmonson County is especially meaningful to him, as it allows him to give back to the community.

“My grandmother was sick with cancer, and that experience led me to a career in healthcare. I chose primary care after my years as a public school nurse, where I often helped determine which students needed treatment from their primary care provider. That process inspired me to become a PCP,” Cyndi shared.

Cyndi values the meaningful relationships she builds with her patients and finds great fulfillment in caring for the community she serves. She finds inspiration in helping rural areas receive quality healthcare.

Ashley James specializes in a wide range of mental health conditions, from anxiety and depression to more complex disorders. Skilled in medication management and lab testing, she provides care for patients of all ages, from children to older adults. Ashley also offers telehealth and post-hospitalization follow-ups, as well as referrals for autism evaluation and counseling.

“I have always liked science, but having Mrs. Vincent for anatomy in high school made me fall in love with the biological sciences. Working in healthcare just made sense,” Ashley shared. “After years in nursing, I discovered that no matter the setting, mental health needs were everywhere. It wasn’t until I worked at a men’s residential addiction treatment facility that I truly found my passion. I knew then that mental health was where I belonged.”

Amy Thomas, APRN, is a native of Elizabethtown with over ten years of experience in family practice and a passion for preventive care. She earned her nursing degrees from the University of Kentucky and Western Kentucky University, followed by a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Frontier Nursing University.

“Since a nursing program visited my kindergarten class, I’ve always been drawn to healthcare. I chose primary care because it allows me to treat the whole person and build long-term relationships,” Amy shared. “The most meaningful part of my work at A Plus Family HealthCare is caring for my community and my neighbors.”
