Working Weekend 😃

I may not be on Spring Break, but I’m blessed to have a profession that I love. I enjoy seeing my patients on weekends knowing they prioritize their mental health. Life can be hectic during the week, but somehow the weekends just feel different.

I treated myself to a hair trim and blowout…shoutout to Alondra 💖 at

Friday Feels 😒

Most of my clients start their spring break after today, and I love hearing about their plans. Meanwhile, I’m looking at the busy week ahead of me…🥲

***I will be taking a few days to recharge myself though. 😉

Therapist Thursday 🛋️

Why is this true?!?! This happens to me so often. Clearly it’s a form of avoidance, but it’s very common. They drop a 💣 and follow it with “That’s ok. We can talk about that in the next session.” 🤦🏻‍♀️

Tip Tuesday ❤️‍🩹

Great tips on healing relationship dynamics by learning how to manage conflicts in a healthy way:
1-Return after a hard conversation
2-Acknowledge the conflict
3-Restore connection

Feminist Friday 🏅

What a Winter Olympics it was! These women represented our country proudly. Though these are not all the medal winners (17 medals in total for the women), I enjoyed listening to these women talk about their respective stories while working hard in their sport.

They dominated in various ways and stand as a reminder to other athletes to never give up. They hard work was evident for the world to witness. However, their journey to this moment was not broadcasted. Champions are not made overnight. 💪🏼

Thoughtful Thursday 📖

Sometimes we need to let go of people who play a temporary role in our life. Relationships create opportunities to discover a new, evolved version of you. Experiences with individuals are lessons in life. Turning the page doesn’t mean a permanent goodbye, but rather a step towards progress and growth.
Turn the page.
Move forward.
Let it go.

Advocating for Mental Health

This page was created to advocate and educate others on the importance of mental health issues in hopes of diminishing the stigma associated with it. This is not an online therapy service. I am a mental health professional living in South Texas, and I have been a psychotherapist since 2004. I use an eclectic approach to therapy using techniques that address my clients’ needs. I have worked at many capacities throughout my career: college career counselor at the local university, a school counselor for grades K3-8th, a community counselor for under-served families, and now in private practice serving individuals 10 years and older. I am a bilingual therapist serving the Spanish-speaking population. I also provide community workshops and continuing education opportunities for local agencies and communities.
