We kicked off the new school year with an energizing In-Service as we prepare to continue our mission of nourishing students for success across Brownsville ISD.

This year’s training featured a special guest speaker from Chick-fil-A, who shared powerful insight on what makes their customer service and dining experience stand out. It was a great reminder of the impact we make each day in our schools.🐮Chick-fil-A Morrison Road

As part of the Food & Nutrition Services Department, we are proud to serve over 57,000 meals a day, fueling learning and wellness throughout the district.

🌿 Even during the summer, BISD Food & Nutrition Services is committed to enhancing the student dining experience! 💚

Today, several schools had the chance to sample crisp, Texas-grown hydroponic lettuce. This fresh, locally sourced produce was brought in to explore new food options and gather student feedback as we continue to elevate our school meals.

We’re always looking for ways to bring fresh ideas to the table because our students deserve the best!

🎉 Yesterday’s Summer Meal Kick- Off Event was a huge success! 🎉

The BISD Food and Nutrition Services Department was thrilled to welcome families and students to celebrate our Summer Feeding Program. Kids enjoyed delicious, nutritious meals and had a blast with fun physical activities, games, and music.

A special thank you to our partners — Tu Salud Si Cuenta for leading the energetic Zumba classes, UTHealth Houston School of Public Health for providing valuable information and resources on their MEND program, Mr. Fred Tamez and Coach Mario Gonzalez for providing all the physical activity equipment, and the Brownsville Children’s Museum and Gladys Porter Zoo for generously providing free admission tickets.

It was amazing to see so many smiles as children fueled up with healthy food and stayed active together!

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We’re proud to provide free, nutritious meals all summer long to children 18 & under across our community. Here’s to a healthy, happy summer! ☀️🥗💪
