Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood, formerly Brownwood Regional Medical Center and a part of Hendrick Health, is a 188-bed facility with services including Level IV Trauma emergency center, a gastroenterology lab, the Walker Cancer Center, wound care center and outpatient rehabilitation therapy.

Hendrick Health recently honored five nurses with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, including one from Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood. The national DAISY Foundation was created in memory of J. Patrick Barns and to honor the super-human work nurses do for patients and families every day.

Another service of specialized cardiac care is now available closer to home. This week, the Hendrick Heart Failure Program at accepted its first patient at its location on the Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood campus.

Because of an organ donation, Angela Hernandez enjoys more days with her father, who received a liver transplant. During our Donate Life Flag-Raising ceremony this week, she honored the donor's family and expressed deep gratitude for the extraordinary gift of time.

What a heart-touching event to see her and her father joined by several others also impacted by organ donation in raising the Donate Life flag on our campus.

We enjoyed two fantastic days of golf, fun and fellowship at the fourth annual Birdies on the Bayou Golf Tournament, presented by Circle B Bar Ranch. More than 25 sponsors supporting Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood joined 100-plus golfers on Monday at The Hideout Golf Club and Resort and on Tuesday at Brownwood Country Club.

The investment in this tournament truly makes a difference. Funds raised will be used strategically to enhance services we provide local families. Thank you to everyone involved in this yearโ€™s tournament and for helping us care for our neighbors in Brown County and the surrounding region.
