After five years of extraordinary service at AccelHealth, our beloved Dr. Tom Byrd will be retiring effective December 23, 2024. While we are excited for Dr. Byrd as he embarks on a new chapter, this moment is truly bittersweet as we say farewell to a physician who has profoundly touched the lives of so many.
As a Brownwood native, Dr. Byrd has served the community since 1995, practicing in both private settings and as Director of Hospital Medicine at Brownwood Regional Medical Center before joining AccelHealth. Dr. Byrd has been a cornerstone of our practice over the past five years, embodying our mission and delivering compassionate care to our patients. With deep respect for each patient’s unique story, Dr. Byrd has built relationships that extend far beyond the walls of our practice.
Additionally, Dr. Byrd holds a master’s certificate in Global Health and has dedicated several years to clinic development in Burundi, Africa, where he serves as a clinical consultant for The Cornerstone Clinic with The Cries of a Child. His retirement will allow him to devote more time to his passions for disease prevention, combating malnutrition, and promoting community health education, as well as spending quality time with his family.
