You may have heard about a strong Abilene Police Department presence at Hendrick Medical Center in north Abilene Wednesday evening.

APD responded to a possible threat at the hospital and quickly identified it as false.

There was no danger to our patients, visitors or employees. Our Security and staff followed proper protocols and cooperated with APD to ensure everyone’s safety until the threat was deemed false and the all-clear was given.

Thank you, APD, for your vigilance to keep our city safe!

Hey Donors! Our biggest blood drive is back. The 14th Annual Rodney Holder Memorial Blood Drive – Guns and Hoses – is July 16-17, from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. We will have two indoor donation sites: Hendrick Regional Blood center (1701 Pine St.) or Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District (850 N. 6th St.)

Will fire and rescue (the Hoses) be the reigning champs, or will law enforcement (the Guns) take back the trophy? Each donor gets to decide.
