As temperatures start to climb, frozen pipes can thaw and burst, which means water damage can show up fast. If you discover a busted pipe:

💦 If you have a water leak and need assistance turning your water off please call 325.646.6000.

Emergency personnel are responding to multiple vehicles stuck on roads right now. Please stay home unless travel is essential to help keep our first responders available for emergencies. Ice may refreeze quickly, drive slow and use extra caution if you must travel.

Extreme Cold Warning issued January 26 at 2:49AM CST until January 26 at 12:00PM CST by NWS San Angelo TX
* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 4 below.

* WHERE...All of west central Texas.

* WHEN...Until noon CST today.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.

Wear protective clothing such as a hat, face mask, and heavy gloves
or mittens if you have plans to be outdoors. To prevent freezing and
possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped,
drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground
sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to
protect them from freezing.

to one inch and ice accumulations around a light glaze.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
continue to be slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road
conditions.

With the cold weather thats headed our way, The Brownwood Fire Department would like to remind you, to NOT plug space heaters into extension cords or power strips!!
Plug them directly into the wall outlet!!!
Extension cords/ Power strips are not able to handle the high current flow that a space heater can put out and can overheat causing a fire.
