Join us for the Hold Me Tight® Workshop (Fall 2025) hosted by the PSM Center for Relationships. Based on Dr. Sue Johnson’s research and grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy, this weekend is designed to help you and your partner:

* Spot and shift the negative cycles that keep you disconnected

* Understand the feelings behind your behaviors

* Restore trust, safety, and emotional closeness

* Practice real conversations in a guided, private, supportive setting

This is not group therapy — you’ll work in private rooms with your partner, with as much or as little group sharing as feels right for you. All couples are welcome, regardless of background or orientation. The workshop is led by certified EFT therapist Andrea Medaris, Psy.D.

💡 Investment: $950 for both partners (includes materials, light breakfast & snacks). Equity & student discounts available by request.

📅 Dates: November 8–9, 2025

🧠 Bonus: Therapists attending with their partner may earn 12 CE credits.

If your heart says, “We can do better,” this may be the time to say yes. It’s a weekend you’ll devote just to us, to learning connection rather than defensiveness; clarity rather than distance. I hope to see you there.

“You never listen.”
“I’ll never get through to them.”
“They’ll never understand.”

We all say things like this, especially in moments when emotions are high. At first glance, they sound like exaggerations.

But underneath, there’s often something deeper.

When someone says “never,” they’re usually not making a factual statement. They’re expressing a felt truth—a fear, a longing, or a pain that’s been carried for a long time.

The fear of always being misunderstood.
The ache of trying to be seen and still feeling invisible.
The worry that closeness might never feel safe.

In therapy, we slow down and listen to these moments. Because “never” often signals something that matters a lot.

It’s not about giving up.
It’s about being heard.

So instead of brushing past the “nevers,” let’s get curious about them. They often point us toward the part of someone that most needs understanding.

Therapy with Gina isn’t about “fixing”—it’s about meeting. Getting curious. Finding your voice. Becoming your own expert. Also? She’s been an early bird since childhood. If you ever brought a book to a sleepover to pass the time while everyone else slept in—you’ve found your people.

Joe wants you to know that there are people who care: enough to stay, listen, and help you find your way. Also, he wants to be a sailmaker. Because holding things steady while you catch the wind? That’s kind of his thing. ⛵

When someone we love is physically hurt, we instinctively offer care. But what happens when the pain is emotional?

Emotional injuries may not leave bruises, but they still need tenderness, empathy, and presence. 💔💬

Next time your partner is hurting, pause. Don’t jump to defend or explain—try to tend to the pain first. That’s where healing begins.

🧠❤️ Let’s treat emotional wounds with the same compassion we show physical ones. Learn how we can help at the link in our bio.
