Friday April 4, 2025 will be both a Joyous and Sad Day for Sears Coastal Nursing & Rehab. Our beloved Social Services Director Donna Turner will be officially retiring after 14 years of service. We are excited for what the future holds for Donna and Randy and we are honored to have had Donna as a part of our lives. Resident Services was not Donna’s first calling in life but I feel it was her best calling. She has been a big part of our extended families lives over these many years. She has helped families with planning the next step for their loved ones, she has cared for our residents like they were her own, she has spent countless hours planning and providing for our residents, their families, and her teammates as well. Donna possesses the intangibles that everyone looks for in an employee today. She is loving, caring, giving, and most of all selfless. If asked to go an extra mile, Donna walks 10. She has been instrumental in planning for emergencies as well as leading and directing evacuations and multiple sheltering in place scenarios. She shops for our residents every Wednesday making sure to purchase the exact lotions, brand of boiled peanuts, and underwear needed to put a smile on the faces of the men and women we are blessed to care for. If Sears ever had a position of Facility Mom, she would embody it in every way. She cares for our team in any and every way possible. I am lucky to have had Donna as a teammate and friend. She will be dearly missed by us all. Donna Turner, know you will always be welcomed and loved at Sears Coastal Nursing & Rehab! Thank you for the amazing person you are!
