In loving memory of Thomas Donald Smith. One of the sweetest clients we have had the privilege to care for. He stole the hearts of every caregiver that entered his doors. His family will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

A Caregiver’s Embrace

In the quiet of dawn, as the world starts to wake,
A caregiver rises, for the veteran’s sake.
With gentle hands moving, a soft, caring touch,
Guiding through memories, recalling so much.

With honor and courage, the veteran stands tall,
Each story a testament, the love shared by all.
They’ve weathered the storms, both on land and at sea,
Now finding a comfort, where the heart can be free.

Through laughter and tears, in moments of care,
Together they journey, a bond strong and rare.
The caregiver listens, both patient and kind,
With empathy woven, their lives intertwined.

In the shadows of battles that still haunt the night,
The caregiver’s presence brings warmth, brings light.
They honor the service, the sacrifices made,
Creating a haven, where fears start to fade.

With every shared moment, hope blossoms anew,
A testament to healing; the strength that they drew.
For in every heartbeat lies gratitude’s grace,
In the heart of a veteran, safe in their embrace.

We are honored to share this heartwarming story of caregiver Carrie, from Visiting Angels Port Orchard:

"Carrie responded to a call from Meredith and Angela, whose loved one was nearing the end of life. Though we never had the chance to formally provide care, Carrie arrived the next morning to find the family in their final moments together. She stayed by the window, offering comfort and quiet support until their son could arrive.
