Suicidal thoughts are sometimes triggered by traumatic events that contribute to hopelessness, worthlessness, intense chronic feelings of sadness without a positive outlook for the future.
Risk factors are those environmental or personal characteristics that increase the chances a person may die by su***de. Protective factors are the environmental and personal characteristics that help protect a person from su***de.

I still believe these are vital actions that over time improve the quality of one’s health and wellbeing.
Many corporations and businesses also have the mindset that it is the individual’s responsibility to manage their own wellness and wellbeing. They provide health related tools or services that the employee may choose to access. Decisions to offer these health-related tools and services, however, are usually based on cost to the employer with little regard to return on investment.
