MaineHealth Mid Coast Hospital is a full-service, 93-bed, not-for-profit hospital in Brunswick, ME and is part of MaineHealth, a not-for-profit integrated health system with the vision, “Working together so our communities are the healthiest in America.” Mid Coast Hospital is a 93-bed community, non-profit hospital with an active medical staff of over 200 physicians serving a population of over 80,000 area residents. Mid Coast Hospital offers inpatient services such as a 24-hour Emergency Department, ICU, Medical/Surgical/Pediatrics, Behavioral Health unit, and a separate Women's Health Care unit concentrating on childbirth at its Maternity Care Center and Gynecological Services center. Outpatient services include Day Surgery, Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging (including the most advanced CT, PET scans and MRI), Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy, and a Hearing Center. A new free CNA training program offers paid, hands-on experience while preparing participants for immediate employment in Maine hospitals and care settings. Programs like this help address workforce shortages while creating meaningful career pathways in our communities.

Food can be a powerful part of managing your health. MaineHealth Mid Coast Hospital’s Food is Medicine program helps patients with chronic conditions learn how healthy eating can support better health and quality of life.

Food is Medicine is a free 15-week program that includes:
🥗 Weekly bags of healthy food with recipes
👩‍🍳 Hands-on cooking classes to build skills and plan healthy meals

It's open to those who are:
• MaineHealth patients age 18+
• Living in the midcoast area
• Diagnosed with a chronic condition such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure
• Experiencing limited access to affordable healthy food

If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, we encourage you to learn more and see if you qualify. The next Cardiac Support Group is coming up on Tuesday, March 10. This free support group is open to anyone who has experienced heart problems, and caregivers are welcome to join.
The group will meet from 1:30-2:30 pm at Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, at the MaineHealth Parkview Campus, 329 Maine Street in Brunswick. As a reminder, the group meets the second Tuesday of each month. For more info, visit https://bit.ly/4rELRsQ
