MaineHealth Mid Coast Hospital is expanding access to child passenger safety services for families in Sagadahoc and Cumberland counties, including free car seats and car seat safety inspections. This service is offered through our Community Health team in partnership with the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety.

Free car seats or booster seats (one per child) are available for Maine residents enrolled in MaineCare, WIC, SNAP or TANF. Certified technicians are also available to the general public to provide hands-on installation guidance, answer questions about proper seat use and help families understand when it’s time to move to the next type of seat.

Free car seats and safety inspections are available:

Join writer Sarah Kilch Gaffney for Writing Through Grief, a free workshop exploring how expressive writing and journaling can help us navigate grief in all its forms. Participants will hear readings, try writing prompts, and take home a journal to continue their practice.
