Maine Mobile Dental Hygiene, LLC

Maine Mobile Dental Hygiene, LLC As of 1/1/23 MMDH will again be providing services to residents of AL and Nursing Facilities. I love to see a smile from !

While working in a small family dental practice, I noted older patients that seemed to "disappear" from our office. Family would report back that they were in a nursing home or too sick to come out to the dental office. I thought if I could just visit them where they were, their oral and overall health could be maintained. Knowing that our elderly and homebound patients tend to have higher risk for decay, aspiration pneumonia, etc I formed Maine Mobile Dental Hygiene to provide these services. I also make referrals to dental offices when necessary and recommendations for over the counter and prescription products to benefit my clients.

Such a sad, preventable situation. Unfortunately, so many older adults have broken teeth that go unaddressed due to very limited adult MaineCare dental providers and dental not being part of Medicare.
There is so much need out there!

A cause of death report filed by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner said former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams died of several causes related to his overall health – but stopped short of saying an injury to his head was a culprit.

🌍 Today is World Alzheimer's Day, a day to unite in the fight against Alzheimer's disease. Let's also take a moment to explore the intriguing connections between Alzheimer's and dental care.

🦷 Recent studies have shown that maintaining good oral hygiene may have a positive impact on brain health. Gum disease and tooth loss have been associated with a higher risk of cognitive decline. This highlights the importance of taking care of our teeth and gums throughout our lives.

πŸ“’ Even if you have no natural teeth, annual dental screenings are still important for your oral health. Ever wonder why:

1️⃣ Oral tissue health: Regular screenings ensure the well-being of your gums, tongue, and oral mucosa, helping detect any abnormalities or signs of oral infections and cancer early on.

2️⃣ Denture assessment: Check-ups allow dental professionals to evaluate the fit, function, and condition of your dentures, ensuring they're comfortable and functional.

3️⃣ Oral hygiene guidance: Dental hygienists provide tailored advice on maintaining proper oral hygiene, including denture cleaning techniques and oral rinses for tissue health.

4️⃣ Identifying oral health issues: Even without natural teeth, you can still experience oral problems like infections or inflammation. Screenings catch these issues early for effective management.

Remember, regular dental screenings ensure ongoing monitoring, early detection, and the care you need for optimal oral health. Stay proactive, even without natural teeth!
