Since 1979, WFS & Spa has offered an exceptional fitness facility, group fitness classes, spa services, and social events to women of all shapes, sizes, ages and backgrounds! Since our membership fee is all-inclusive of our group fitness schedule, with over 30 classes offered per week, it is a great value to anyone wanting to take classes. It provides flexibility to work out at a time that is convenient and the classes can also be modified to accommodate different fitness levels. During the warmer months the Club organizes various outdoor running and cycling groups. In 2004, we incorporated Les Mills group fitness classes at our club. With all the Les Mills programs, a new class is released every three months with new music and choreography. This enables us to offer motivated, passionate instructors and inspiring music tracks which guide our members through a variety of workouts. We currently offer four of the eight Les Mills group fitness classes. Class descriptions are included below:
•Bodypump is the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for — and fast.
•Bodyflow is the yoga, tai chi, pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.
•Bodycombat is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai chi and muay thai. Supported by driving music and powerful role model instructors, you strike, punch and kick your way through calories to superior cardio fitness.
•RPM is a high intensity interval training class set to tunes that'll get your pulse racing. Our fitness coaches provide a complimentary goal-setting session to all members. We are going to tackle:
Improved operations: Currently, we are working hard to fine-tune all of our internal operations. We set the bar high and want to be better at what we do. Childhood obesity: We see a need (and feel an obligation) to help our youth. Childhood obesity is out of control and we are well positioned to help girls and young women. Our club offers a safe and supportive environment for this population to learn healthy habits they can continue for a lifetime. Preventive care: We are making progress with regard to insurance and workplace reimbursement for fitness and wellness programs as preventative care. When an insurance company allows a physician to write a prescription for a woman to come to my club and workout with a trainer two or three times a week, then we are fixing the problems. We offer what most doctors order.
