Sweetser's Support ME Peer Center

Sweetser's Support ME Peer Center Come as you are. We’ll meet you there. The center is the sixth of its kind in Maine and the only peer center serving the Midcoast. to 4:30 p.m.

Our Peer Center provides free, walk-in peer support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges, life stress, and trauma. Sweetser has officially opened its SupportME Peer Center in Brunswick, offering a free, no-judgment community resource for Mainers who are struggling with mental health or substance use. Located at 329 Bath Road next to Sweetser's Hope & Healing Center, the facility w

ill serve residents in Brunswick and throughout Sagadahoc, Knox, Waldo, and Lincoln Counties. The purpose of a peer center is to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where people come together to connect, share, and support one another at all stages of their recovery journey. The center offers daily peer-run groups, life skills workshops, and one-on-one support, all staffed by trained peer support specialists, each of whom have their own personal connection to mental health or substance use challenges. The facility does not require any payment or insurance. Community members don't even need to provide their full name. The philosophy here is truly, “Come as you are.”

The SupportME Peer Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. Community members can connect with staff at 207-373-3005 or email PeerCenter@sweetser.org. More information is available at Sweetser.org/PeerCenter.

We're one week out from the Maine HOPE Conference, hope to see many of you there! A reminder that the center will be open on the day of the conference but all staff peers will be in Augusta attending.

A huge thank you to Maine Association of Peer Support and Recovery Centers for their generous support of this year’s H.O.P.E. Conference. By championing peer-run centers and support services, you ensure that lived experience remains at the heart of both mental health and recovery advocacy in our communities.

We are honored to have you as a partner in "Celebrating the Journey" and for everything you do to support our collective well-being! 🌲
