Heath was a very proud member of the New York State Department of Corrections. His brothers in Blue meant the world to him and know, he would have been on the front line with you. Please stand strong, your families depend on this broken system to keep you safe, your strike is our only hope that the system is fixed. God Bless you all!!

A year? I am still trying to process this, and it has taken me a few days to post this message to our family and friends. My heart remains broken. There are no more 3 a.m. messages, "Are you awake?" Followed by a phone call. No more memes, no more, "Hey, sissy." I miss you so much, little brother. I haven't forgotten you, not one day! I look out for your girls like you asked. I am trying with the other request, some days, it is harder than others. Just know that I am much worse than you (private joke). Please watch over us. I love you!!

Heath wanted to be remembered, not out of vanity, but to remind us of the importance of helping others. Heath had a heart larger than anyone I have ever known. His wish was for us all to do random acts of kindness in remembrance. April is a perfect month to perform this act. The Town of Malone has recognized April as Donate Life Month. The wish is to spread awareness about the importance of registering as an organ donor.

There are no words to truly express our gratitude for all of your support, prayers, donations and food. Heath would have been as overwhelmed as we are. There are to many individuals to list, but know we couldn’t have gotten through Heath’s entire journey without you. A very special thank you to the Men in Blue, CERT Team and NYSCOBA, you truly are a family. Another important family is the Fire Police and Brushton Volunteer Fire Department. These organizations represent brothers and sisters that always stand by one another!

Heath didn’t want us to ever forget him, that is impossible. If you would like to keep Heath’s memory alive, please do a random act of kindness in his honor. Again, thank you all and God Bless you!❤️🙏❤️🙏

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved son, husband, father, brother, cousin and friend to many, Heath Patterson. As you know Heath battled hard, there is/was no one tougher. His love of family and friends kept him going, even up to the end. We can't imagine how to go on at this point, Heath was truly the glue that kept us all together.

Heath wanted each of you to know how much he appreciated your kind thoughts, prayers and deeds. Please continue to keep Heath and the family, especially Dawn, Kayla and Brittany and our Dad, Dale, in your prayers.
