NAMI’s new School Mental Health Education Map shows how each state is addressing mental health education in K-12 schools. As of 2025, 19 states and D.C. have requirements in place — and more are taking steps to integrate mental health into their curricula.

When students learn about mental health early, they’re better equipped to recognize warning signs, seek help, and support one another.

We achieve this by offering vital support, education and advocacy. Through the development and implementation of diverse programs, we empower individuals to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. To ensure the continued success of our efforts. We depend on the generosity and support of local business owners and community members.

I am requesting you partner with us. Together we can profoundly impact the lives of those affected by mental illness, and take a bold step forward in combating mental health stigma and ensure the continued growth and success of NAMI Brazos Valley‘s program, which ultimately improves the lives of individuals living with mental illness and their families.

Your local NAMI Brazos Valley which covers all 7 counties is in need of financial assistance and support. How can you help?

National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month is observed in October in the United States. This month aims to raise awareness about mental health issues, encourage screenings, and provide support to individuals struggling with depression and other mental illnesses. Organizations and individuals promote: Mental health screenings, Educational events, Support groups, Resources for accessing treatment, and Stigma reduction efforts. In October we wear Green, I propose selling green bracelets to promote awareness and help fund our local NAMI Brazos Valley program.
